I don't know how I keep missing this stuff, so I apologize that this weeks deadline for pre-orders has passed. BUT, she does bring some extra goodies to our good friends at Thistle Exchange. This is another one of them hidden gems in our community. Yes, I am talking about Buzz Worthy and Thistle. We LOVE the collaborations that we have with so many other small businesses in the area. "Chelsea selected a sewing project for 4-H. In her journey to learn how to sew she started making rice bags for boo-boo’s, headaches, and sore muscles. Her aunt bought her a 50 pound bag of rice to keep her occupied all summer and her business was born. Rice bags can be heated or frozen for multiple uses. She filled the kitchen with lots of rice bags and now needs to find them new homes" 😊

The wait is finally over! I know a lot of customers have been patiently waiting on comb honey. Today, we will have it back in stock at the Downtown BG Farmers' Market - WLI -Bowling Green, Ohio from 4-7. Stores that carry our product will have it in stock very soon. As you can see in the picture, so far it is a very bright white wax with a light honey. We will have 4x4's, limited 2x4's and our very popular Chunk Comb Honey. Hope to see you there!

Friday I got to do one of my favorite things as a small business owner. I had a lady call me a couple of weeks ago that had purchased some maple cotton candy recently. She fell in love with it and wanted to know if she could have a few shipped to her as she lived about an hour away. I frequently travel through her town, so I told her once we get some made that I will drop them off. In that phone call, she explained how she was beginning chemo and radiation for a recent cancer diagnosis. She went into pretty good detail. Friday, I dropped off cotton candy and some lip balms (medical facilities have a way to dry out lips). When asked what she owed, I told her absolutlely nothing. I explained that she was in the fight of her life and even though this is a tiny gesture, we fight with her. Cancer sucks. We have had many family members and close friends battle it. And one currently. Nobody fights alone. And if some cotton candy and lip balms brighten someones day as much as it did hers, the gesture is well worth it. Not posting for attaboys. Prefer that not happen. Just sharing the experiece.

For all you cotton candy lovers, the wait is finally over! We will have our ever famous Maple Cotton Candy back in stock on Wednesday at the farmers market. Mother nature finally kicked the humidity down, allowing us to finally get some spun up. Even inside with central air, the outside humidity can make for difficult cotton candy making. We will have it back in stock Thistle Exchange Wednesday or Thursday.

Ever been curious what goes on INSIDE a colony of honeybees? Join us today at the K&J Farms tent to see what exactly is going on. Summer weather has finally cooperated that we are able to bring the observation hive to the market! You will be able to see bee eggs, different stages of larvae, chrysalis stages, capped honey, nectar, bee bread and the queen bee with her entourage who are taking care of her. Come with your questions and check out the bees safely. We will also have our heat sensitive products back on the table. Lip balms, dog paw and nose balms, and our highly sought after flavored cream honeys. Going to be a beautiful evening, hope to see you at the market!

I have said a few times that we have A LOT of small business bakeries that we work closely with. Thinking there are 12 or so (I could count them LOL). Here is one based out of Fostoria. Her new product, the Peach Cobbler Sourdough, will be made with our honey. She also uses our maple syrup in some of her goodies. This is what makes the small business adventure so strong. Teaming up together and bringing quality products to the market. She does a weekly order drop off on Wednesdays to our great friends at Thistle Exchange. A shortened market due to weather is a chance to get caught up a little. Our customers have been all about the cream honeys this year. So much so that some flavors haven’t even been made due to keeping up on the more popular flavors. Once made, each flavor is cycled through a fridge set at 55 degrees. Depending on flavor, creaming takes 5 to 17 days. Shopping for a bigger fridge to hold more. Pictured is our popular Chai. Tomorrow I’ll make more seed, then a batch of Bourbon.
