Well after a couple days of recovery, I just want to say thank you all so much for showing up last Saturday for our pumpkin patch event. You guys proved that this garden/pumpkin patch/agritourism event destination has been worth pouring my heart into- and so I’ll continue to build and expand where possible. I’m looking forward to offering many more events next year!!

At the beginning of this year, I intently set out to push my own limits as far as possible to build as much as I could this year and set the course for Meadowlark Acres’ future. That included the bakery and all its equipment, deconstructing last years garden, redesigning and building this years garden, a high tunnel to extend my growing season, the pumpkin patch attractions, and a lot more behind the scenes.

I cannot thank you all enough: my dear customers, our amazing homeschool community, MCPSD #1 2nd grade teachers for the opportunity to give tours to all second graders, the organizations that came out for tours, my friends in the business community (and community business 😉) who have been so supportive, and family who helped with a ton in the background so I could stay focused on achieving my goals for the year.

A few updates:

-the end of produce season has arrived so no more veggies & melons (Booooo!)

-I’ll be finishing out pumpkin harvest over the next week or two. But with freezing temps over the next night or two we’ll see how long the pumpkins last out there, usually I can get pretty close to Halloween.

-You can continue to support Meadowlark Acres throughout the winter by buying our baked goods!

-I’ll be stocking the garden entrance farmstand with pumpkins closer to the weekend

We are so excited for our first ever Pumpkin Patch event on Saturday!!

It has been wild over here!! I’ll post more information tomorrow! But for now I gotta hop back in the bakery and get more dough going! Can’t wait to see you all on Saturday 12pm-4pm at Meadowlark Acres!!! We’re gonna have so much fun.

Homeschool harvest crew, I could use a few helpers tomorrow (Thursday) morning 9–11 AM if you feel like getting your boots dirty! 🎃

We’re going to cut and load a few pumpkins for our friends at the McKenzie County Ag Expo! Then we’ll see what there is for tomatoes. Rain or shine, I’ll be out there if you’d like to join! 😎

This will be our last veggie harvest together for the season. I’ll update you all about pumpkin harvesting in the next week! We’ll only have 2 or 3 of those I think 👍🏻

I’m so pumped to finally have a shindig out here at Meadowlark Acres! We’re teaming up with Well Read for a Pick Your Own Fall Event on Saturday, October 10, from 12–4 PM. 🍂🎃📚

Come wander the garden, pick out a book, and pick out a pumpkin or two- I’ll probably bake for this event also so plan on breads, focaccia and cookies! I’m hoping we still have some veggies in the garden by then but I’m expecting lots of pumpkins!

We’re working on some extra fun too, including tomato slingshots, axe throwing, and a place for the kids to just run around and play on straw bales. We’ll share what’s ready, along with prices, special guests and more details, as we get closer.

Mostly, I’m just looking forward to having everyone out here for a good time in the garden. 😆 Hope you can join us!

Homeschool Harvest: Okay, Tuesday snuck up on me!! 😱😬 Very sorry for this late update!

I just went through the garden and I think let’s reschedule Homeschool Harvest for Thursday. We harvested the rows really well last week and everything still needs a couple days to ripen again. I think we’ll do one last harvest in the veggie rows together on Thursday then next week we’ll start harvesting pumpkins!! The ones we can actually lift 😆 There’s some gigantos out there!

Thanks again for being flexible! You and your kids have been outstanding. I can’t thank you all enough for your hard work and willingness to help!!

However, if you show up today because I posted this way too late, I will still have some buckets and some peppers for you to pick!

Today is your big shot at tomatoes! I won’t be packing tomato boxes for a few days at least.

I put out 225lbs worth of boxed tomatoes on the Garden Entrance farm stand. Let me know if you want me to set a box aside for you. I’ll try to keep up!
