Thank you Jeb for calling Talley Vineyards one of the benchmark estates for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on the Central Coast. That has been our goal for the past 40 years and what we will continue to strive for every single vintage.

“Talley Vineyards has long been one of the benchmark estates for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on the Central Coast. Don and Rosemary Talley founded the w**ery in 1986 on the family’s Arroyo Grande Valley farm, where grapes had first been planted on hillside parcels a few years earlier. Today the third generation, Brian Talley, runs the estate with his wife Johnine, while Eric Johnson oversees the w**emaking. Everything is estate-grown from seven family vineyards spread across the Arroyo Grande and Edna valleys, including Rincon, Rosemary’s, and Oliver’s, and the w**es have a restrained, classic style built around native fermentations and judicious use of new oak. They age beautifully, and I always find a certain Burgundian-like character here.”

“More stone fruits, brioche, savory herbs, and some crushed citrus all emerge from the 2024 Chardonnay Rosemary’s Vineyard, which spent 14 months on the lees in 27% new French oak barriques. It’s bright, clean, and vibrant on the palate, with good density and depth, integrated acidity and oak, and a great finish.”
🌹 2024 Rosemary’s Pinot Noir: 96 points
“Black raspberries, spice, bouquet garni, and a kiss of minerality all emerge from the 2024 Pinot Noir Rosemary’s Vineyard, which spent 17 months in 30% new French oak. It’s medium-bodied on the palate and has a wonderfully layered, seamless mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It’s beautifully done and a gorgeous effort from this team that shows the complexity, nuance, and class of this terrific estate.”
