New product! Scottish Oats. These are stone ground oats which have a mixture of fines, medium, and course ground oats. This produces a wonderful thick and creamy porridge. Available this Saturday at the South Charleston Farmers Market sc_farmers_market for the first time!

This weeks recipe is a cornmeal sorghum butter biscuit. Flaky, tender biscuits with a touch of cornmeal for texture and flavor. These travel well and are perfect for picnics or alongside grilled meats.

Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup Arbaugh Farm stoneground cornmeal
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
6 tbsp cold butter
¾ cup buttermilk

Sorghum Butter:
3 tbsp butter, softened
1 tbsp Arbaugh Farm sorghum molasses

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Mix flour, cornmeal, baking powder, salt, and baking soda.
Cut in cold butter until crumbly.
Stir in buttermilk just until dough forms.
Pat out and cut biscuits.
Bake 12–15 minutes until golden.
Mix sorghum butter and serve warm.

These Cornmeal-Crusted Roasted Vegetables are a crispy, flavorful way to enjoy the first fresh vegetables of spring.
Ingredients:
1 cup Arbaugh Farm stoneground cornmeal
2 cups mixed vegetables (carrots, asparagus, zucchini, cauliflower)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp salt
½ tsp pepper

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 425°F.
Toss vegetables with olive oil.
Mix cornmeal with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Toss vegetables in cornmeal mixture until lightly coated.
Roast 20–25 minutes until crisp and tender.

This savory spring cornbread is moist, tender, and brightened with fresh green onions. It’s a perfect side for lighter spring meals or a bowl of soup.

Ingredients:
1 cup stoneground cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp sugar (optional)
1 cup buttermilk
1 egg
¼ cup melted butter
½ cup sliced green onions

nstructions:
Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease a skillet or baking dish.
Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
Whisk buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.
Combine wet and dry ingredients. Fold in green onions.
Pour into skillet and bake 20–25 minutes until golden.

I love buckwheat! These nutty buckwheat waffles are hearty but fresh, topped with sweet strawberries for a perfect spring breakfast.

Ingredients:
1 cup Arbaugh Farm buckwheat flour
¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
2 eggs
1½ cups buttermilk
3 tbsp melted butter

Instructions:
Mix flours, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Whisk eggs, buttermilk, and butter.
Combine wet and dry ingredients.
Cook batter in a waffle iron according to manufacturer instructions.
Serve with sliced strawberries and syrup.
