On this snow day here in SE NC, I'm playing with some willow clippings. I made a primitive Celtic cross.
These are fresh stems that have been in water for almost a week.
*First secured one end to weave twigs.
*Tighten up the weave by gently pushing together.
*Tied ends with 100% rayon ribbon.
*Trimmed ends.
Building skills. Next time will be tighter.
Willow cuttings will be available for sale next year. Varieties include: Showtime (used here, red color), Rubykins (yellow), Cinera (yellow), and Caprea (brown stem that flowers, lovely yellow p***y willow blossoms).
