🌱🫘 Did You Know....
That Light Roast Coffee Beans 🫘 Need Between At Least 14 to 21 Days Of Rest After Roasting In Order To Achieve Their Full & Distinctive Flavor & Aroma?? 🫘🤔
Why? ....You Might Ask??
The Longer We Roast A Green (Uncooked) Coffee Bean, From Light Roast, Then Medium Roast, And Then Dark Roast, Moisture Escapes As The Beans Roast, And The Beans Become Less Dense, And More Porous. Light Roast Cooks The Shortest Time, And So The Beans Retain More Moisture & Density, And Are Less Porous Than Medium & Dark Roast.
When All Roasted Coffee Beans Are "Resting" After Cooling From The Roast Process, They Are Specially Bagged Or Sealed In Gas Releasing Jars. The Roasted Beans Release Stored CO2 Gases Built Up Inside The Beans, During The Roasting Process. As The Gases Release Properly, The Roasted Beans Dry And Release Their Full Flavor & Aroma Profile. Dark Roast Is Least Dense, Less Moisture, And More Porous, So We Usually Allow At Least Seven Days Of Resting After Roasting, Medium Roasted Beans Are More Dense, Having A Bit More Moisture Trapped Inside & Less Porous, So We Allow Them To Rest Ten To Twelve Days For Full Flavor & Aroma. Light Roast Beans Retain More Moisture & Density, Being Least Porous, So They Require Even More Resting To Release Gases & Moisture, Before Reaching Their Peak Flavor & Aroma.
