New Year New Bake #9 • Yeast-Raised Angel Biscuits • As the name suggests, these biscuits are heavenly. Light, fluffy, and buttery. Perfect for sausage, egg, and cheese biscuits. Using both yeast and baking powder, there’s an initial rise for an hour and then chilling time in the freezer. So it’s not a quick biscuit recipe, but with some pre-planning you won’t be disappointed.

New Year New Bake #8 • Lye dipped pretzel and bagels. While I’ve baked these recipes before, I haven’t tried lye dipped bagels. Beautiful color and texture, unfortunate pucker in the center. Living up to the OnlyFans nod in the account name. 🤭

BBQ Bread • recreating a classic from my childhood based on Wonder’s Bar-B-Q bread. Typically paired with spaghetti, we opted for pork and potatoes.

Thousand Layer Mo • New year new bake #7 • I enjoy stalking ’s Test Kitchen section for new recipes (especially bread). Mo gave me the chance to try a different shaping technique where you stretch the dough (don’t roll it) out and make long cuts in the dough before rolling it into a coil. Resulting in soft and flaky Chinese buns.

Scallion and cheddar Cathead Biscuits • New year and new bake #6. Currently in my biscuit era and decided to try my hand at cathead biscuits with a mix of all purpose and cake flour. Covered in gravy with hot sage sausage from Phillips Brothers Country Hams, Inc. Also, Suzie is relieved that they aren’t doghead biscuits (swipe for proof).

Homemade Pizza Pockets • For years, I’ve been trying different recipes and buttery doughs to replicate the Hot Pocket experience and ’s pizza pockets nails it (down to the mouth scorching filling). This new year new bake included pepperoni, mozzarella, onion and pizza sauce topped with ’ spicy garlic Parmesan sauce and extra Parmesan.
