Dearest community,
Our hearts are broken. Words cannot begin to describe the tragedy that struck our small town. Hurricane Helene has left us all shaken with shock and grief. It was a natural disaster we didn’t see coming. It’s left a mark that we are in the midst of repairing. We have a long road ahead of us.
But we are fortunate to be alive and well. But as things come back online we are seeing the full impact the storm has left in its wake. So much destruction and lives lost. We are grieving. Our little town will never be the same but we remain hopeful we will come back stronger. Because we’re built different out here.
The hard thing is we don’t know when we can get back to normal. But we do know throughout the darkness there is light and there is so much resilience in our community. We have witnessed so much kindness, compassion, and love over the past few days. Strangers helping each other, neighbors offering resources, and just relating to each other as humans. We have never hugged so many strangers but they don’t feel like strangers anymore.
If you’re able to help and donate please see below some of our favorite causes who need help:
If you’re still around town there is plenty of volunteer opportunities. Also if you can support small businesses like ours now is the time to do so. We are looking at market opportunities to vend and getting our business back on its feet but for now are focusing on survival. We are not giving up and here to help our community as much as we can.
Together we can rebuild our little town again. Keep your head up Asheville. We will get through this together. ❤️
