Dragon Boat Festival (Duanwu Festival) is a traditional holiday celebrated in many Chinese communities and throughout Asia. Its most widely known origin honors Qu Yuan, a poet and statesman remembered for his patriotism and integrity. According to legend, people raced boats and tossed rice dumplings into the river in an effort to protect him, traditions that evolved into today's dragon boat races and zongzi.
Today is also Juneteenth, a day of remembrance, reflection, and celebration of Black freedom, resilience, and achievement. Weβre grateful to be part of a community shaped by many cultures, traditions, and stories.
