Why does direct sourcing matter?

To us, direct sourcing is really about connected sourcing.

It’s about building relationships as close to the farm as possible. Sometimes that means working directly with growers. Other times, it means partnering with trusted organizations like Kazi Yetu, who share our values and help us build meaningful connections with farming communities.

It’s not about eliminating every step in the supply chain—it’s about knowing the people, protecting the land, and creating long-term partnerships built on trust, transparency, and shared values.

Every year, we’re working to strengthen those connections and bring more of our herbs closer to the source.

Because we believe better relationships lead to better botanicals—and ultimately, a better cup of tea.
