We are seeking a full-time Wine Sales Consultant to start upon selection of the right candidate. Starting pay is $20/hour, this is a full-time position (39 hours/week). This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to pursue a career in the wine industry. The store is staffed by a fun group of wine geeks (not snobs), and you would be surrounded by folks who love wine, food, and people, and love sharing their passion for all three! The position also presents growth opportunities both within and outside the shop. You can have a life outside of work, and have fun while you're working!
Table Wine opened in 2010 and the store focuses on wines from small, family owned and operated wineries from all over the world. The key to our success is outstanding customer service combined with our unique and dynamic selection of wines from smaller producers and highly regarded importers.
We love to promote from within, and the average staff tenure is 2+ years (because it's a fun job!). In addition, several Table Wine alumni have taken the next step, and they now work with distributors and importers, but they launched their careers by working at the shop. Requirements:
- Fundamental wine knowledge is a must.
- Excellent customer service and sales skills.
- Good typing and computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft office suite.
- Must be able to work all Saturdays and the days leading up to major holidays.
- Ability to repetitively lift 40 to 50 pound boxes of wine. We sell a lot and carry a lot of boxes to customers' cars.
- Drinks rosé in the winter, loves geeky small grower wines, and is comfortable learning about fun wines on the job : )
- Motivated person who thinks out-of-the-box, doesn’t mind tasting wine at 11:00 a.m., and is looking to grow with our company.
- Previous experience in the wine retail and/or the hospitality industry is preferred.
