PLEASE SHARE: It breaks my heart that the time has come...Scout and Pepper will be available for adoption soon.
A little backstory....
Back in January(the week of the vortex) Brandon and I went down to the basement to get something and we heard who we thought was our cat KitKat, meowing. KitKat was upstairs though. We look around and sitting in our basement rafters was a beautiful grey/peach tabby. We were both soooo confused. Well as you know neither one of us could put her out. I checked around for an owner but had no luck. Baney Rd. is a pretty hot spot for animal dumps. We assume that she was dumped because she got pregnant. She was extremely sweet and didn't seem feral at all! Baney animal dumps are how we ended up with Jinx and KitKat. I made her a spot in our basement and as the days went on I realized she was pregnant🤦🏼♀️ Allee had to name her so we had something to call her. Peaches was what was picked. Fast forward to March 30. She gave birth to two beautiful babies Scout and Pepper. Peaches was still pretty big after she had them. I was concerned that there might still be babies in there, so we got her to the vet and got her checked out. They said there weren't any others in there. She was healthy and that the babies were all right❤️ we did need to worm her though. That was some of the extra pounds she had. The kittens have progressed wonderfully with their only being two. The 3 of them are bonded like no other cats I have ever seen. Peaches has been the absolute best mama cat I have ever known. And I have had a loooooooot of cats in my life. I've never known a cat to only have two kittens either though. She hasn't tired of them yet but I can feel it coming. She loves to play with them because she's also young herself. They are such a trio. Now through all of this I was worried about stressing her out so we never introduced her to the dogs or cats until after the kittens were born and even then their introductions were only through a baby gate I just wanted them to get used to seeing one another. Gia and Gypsy have done really well with Peaches. So the kittens have been around our goldens a bit. I don't think a home with dogs would be an issue. Our issue is our cat KitKat. We would love nothing more than to keep Peaches but I know there is a chance that we may not be able to get KitKat to come around. After all these years of having her she definitely still has a bit of feral left in her and she is not having another female in this house. We swore from the get-go if it didn't work with the two of them then it just didn't work. So there is a possibility that Peaches will be up for adoption if things don't work out. The kittens have briefly been introduced to the dogs and they have done pretty well.
Scout is the white tabby. Pepper is the solid tabby. They are so playful but cuddly! We have really enjoyed the time fostering them but keeping them just isn't in the cards due to our previous group. I am hoping to first try and adopt these 2 sisters out together. I really don't want to split the up :( I do know the chances of finding someone to adopt both of them is pretty slim, but I figured I would give it a shot. As of today the girls are exactly 11 weeks. They're eating kitten food and are litter box trained. They have had their first round of shots. They love treats and enjoy parkouring around my house together. They can bring a smile to your face even on the worst of days! If for some reason, I can find an adopter who would take all three I would consider letting Peach go also :( I would love nothing more than for them to stay together, but I know that that can be unrealistic. Not many people want to take on too much less three.
I will be very thorough with their adoption. There will be a small rehoming fee. One of the stipulations is the girls MUST be spayed.
If anyone has any interest in these two cuties or knows someone looking, please message me here or text me at six15/96two.47nine6.
***For those who will ask, we did figure out how she got in the house. There is an entrance to our crawl space outside and somehow the concrete was moved and she was able to get in. I truly believe that if she hadn't have broken in that she would have died outside pregnant with those sweet babies.
