Several years ago I stopped purchasing rams from outside our flock. Every lamb crop we retain 10 to 20 ram lambs out of the best producing ewes to use as sires. These rams are used only once or twice, so usually I have an excess of long yearling and two year old rams that would be useful to some commercial producers. A couple weeks ago a friend of mine that runs a couple thousand ewes called and needed 10 rams. These are the ten head we sorted up and delivered to him yesterday. It may not be for everyone but it might be helpful to some. Give me call if you are in need I’ve got more of them.

ISO 2 to 5 head of ram lambs that will look similar to these as yearlings.
• Need to have been born between Oct 2024 & April 2025
• Must be intact horned, hair, ram lambs of high libido trophy type genetics
• Must be from a well managed healthy flock
• Need to be priced at or near current ethnic market lamb prices
Their sire potential has no value to me. They will be used as vasectomized teaser rams.

Offering approximately 250 commercial spring lambing ewes. Exposed to start lambing March 1. All ewes in the offering are home raised born in 2021, 2022 & 2023. Last chance for these spring born White Dorper and Dorper ewe lambs. 50 head still available. Raised on pasture so they should be fine on any quality forage. Broke to guard and working dogs. Have been sorted through four times but the initial sort was as replacements so the quality remains. Don’t miss an opportunity, what’s left by mid November will be headed to slaughter. 90 ewe lambs late March,April and early May born. Will weigh around 70 # average. We’ve sorted off the bottom end and I kept all I need as replacements this is the balance of the replacement group. They were born and raised on pasture have been dry lotted on a grow ration to wean. Commercial White Dorpers a few out of Dorper ewes a few may have an 1/8 Romanov in them. Jake and I built this “night trap” in one of the pastures last winter. It’s a couple of acres in size with a windbreak a solar well, tanks and a small runoff dirt tank. It’s a good place to pen overnight and allows the dogs to have a better handle on the flock. These are our April born lambs and their mothers. This was their first night as I had moved them to this pasture in the morning. They know the country these ewes lambed in this pasture and trap before going to triticale pasture. There’s another flock like this still on the south circle with May born lambs.

Last weekend Gloria and I took a group of “out of service” ewes and bucks to a sheep & goat auction. I’ve been looking for some horned breed bucks to vasectomies and use for teaser rams as our current ones are getting some age on them and showing some wear and tear. Found these two at the auction and couldn’t have found a pair of better mannered easy to handle little gentleman than these. They will have a long simple life. I would take a couple more if I could find them. Hope the “Dorpers - Breeding to SA Standard” group doesn’t see them they will love them. 😊

White Dorper tough is when your born right in front of a hail storm. I can’t tell you how many lambs she’s raised without looking up her record but that’s an 8 year old Royal White or(Dorpcroix) ewe. She’s still got a good solid mouth a good udder and the condition and structural soundness to be productive, if she does a good job on this lamb she’ll be lambing here again next spring.
