Just enjoying the antics of these guys. They aren't scared at all. They almost ran into me multiple times just getting this video. Joe has had them land on him a couple times now. My goodness can they eat. We have 6 feeders and have to refill them weekly now because we have so many hummingbirds.
Pretty little girl we are growing out right now. She carries blue and chocolate for sure. She is 6 weeks old now, and I am quite happy with her development. She will be our first doe to bring us some chocolates when she grows up.
UFD - 4 Month old Australorp rooster. He has shown no aggression and has been handled by my kids almost daily. He's a handsome boy.

New arrivals yesterday. Mama's and kits are doing great. Summer litters can be risky in the South, but I have and will continue to work on heat tolerance without losing their luxurious fur traits in the process. So far so good.
LC's Xhinna X GC LC's R***r had 7 healthy kits, 5 black and two blues
LC's Lin X Still Waters Greyson had 5 healthy kits, 3 black, 1 blue, and a white. Now we know Greyson carries white as well. Hoping the white shows excellent type as it grows out.
Carrollton show was great. We had a lot of fun. Silver Fox had the 2nd most entries at 58 rabbits! Seen a lot of good friends and enjoyed the close knit community that the GSFRB club has. So thankful for this amazing group to enjoy my hobby with. Sadly, we did not bring home any title wins this time, but we had a lot of great remarks from the judges and are happy with our up and coming breeders that were shown.
Major congratulations to Zoey!! Her first show and her Jr doe too BOV for blues. I am so happy and excited for her. The look on her face said it all ❤ (a youths first time showing under her rabbitry 🥰)
Congratulations to Linda Townsend for winning RIS! She had some beautiful rabbits on the tables, one of them has joined our herd as well. A great win for her, and a great win for the whole Silver Fox breed.
(Nell had an excellent time playing with the other kids and helping with tabling buns with me. She did a great job!)
This beautiful guy 😍. Just showing him off. He is 6 months old. Out of GC LCs Abby X GC LCs Tsunami. Loving his depth. And his fur has amazing density.
**SOLD**
We have 5 full grown Ring neck Pheasants (1 male, 4 female), and 4 unsexed chicks (off the heating lamps) UFD. Message us if you want to talk about them.

Ringneck Pheasants have begun hatching. Look at this cute little thing ❤. They are UFD, straight run. PM for details.
Had a good day today at the RPOA show in Muscle Shoals. Missed my regular bunny friends, but made new ones also.
GC LC's Tsunami got BOS in show A
GC LC's R***r got BOS in show B
And our new addition to our herd thanks to Linda Townsend of Tale of Tails rabbitry,
Tale of Tails Josea won BOB in both shows A and B as well as RIS in show B. She is a gorgeous girl and has had a great start in her show career.
I could be home responsibly doing my farm chores, but instead I decided on a bunny show 😍. So much better! Missing my bunny friends today though.

UFD
Just turned 4 months. She is a big girl weighing in at 9lb 2oz already. She is very lightly silvered, but it is even. She would make an excellent brood doe. PM only please.

Black Australorp chicks (a few barred rock mixes snuck in on us). Hatched 3 1/2 weeks ago. Located in Ashville, AL. PM for information.
Sorry for the bad video quality, but it is in a hard to get to spot.
She finally got her babies to hatch. One egg went missing at some point, but she has 4 little babies in the nest now. I'll try to get pics and keep posting when I get time 😊
Ring Neck Pheasants have started. 24 days and we will have some chicks UFD. Please PM to be added to the list for when they hatch.

Ring neck Pheasant hatching eggs
RR Brienne, our newest addition (thank you Renaissance Rabbitry ) is a major over achiever. She had 12 babies! We did lose two of them (one was stillborn or died before we got up there), but she still has 10 wiggles that she is taking good care of.
We have a beautiful nest built in our chicken feed building. I can't tell what kind of bird because she is just too fast for me. Some nice eggs though, maybe we will get to see the babies grow up 🥰
Carpenter bee traps for sale $10 apiece
Come get one here at the Homestead or can meet in Ashville, Springville, Odenville.
Edit: We have found one now. Thank you for the responses.
We are on the search for a Billy goat, our Nannies are lonely. We are looking for medium to large large breed, no dwarf, pygmy, or miniature breeds please. Does not need to be full bred, can be a mix breed. What do some of my friends have up for discussion? Pic for attention.
Black Australorp chicks are here. Pm us if you want to discuss them. Ashville, AL
(Pic of adults are just examples of a few from our flock)
We also have hatching eggs that are black/blue Australorps and some for Ring Neck Pheasants.
We have 12 that have hatched so far.
48 eggs going under lockdown tonight. Should see some chicks soon 🥰❤. I will post when we start seeing some action.
Trying our hand at tanning some hides. A lot of work, but no fur slipping, so hopefully I did this right. Happy to learn more and continue to improve our homestead's capabilities. 🥰
Fresh eggs available for sale.
Fresh whole butchered rabbits. "For pet consumption." PM us if you would like to talk about it. Local only. Pic for attention
We are having a butcher day this weekend. I will have some whole rabbits processed "for pet consumption." Please pm if you are interested on discussing this with us. They will be ready for pickup Monday.
In 3 weeks we will have some chicks ready. Black Australorps as well as a barnyard mix of RIR, RIW, and Americauna. Send me a message if you want to talk about them.
There is also an opportunity for hatching eggs if you are interested, please pm for info.
Meet our newest addition. Still Waters Greyson. A beautiful lilac buck to bring some color to our nest boxes. And as an added bonus, he is the sweetest most loving bunny ever. He is already rubbing on me and grooming my hand, begging for attention ❤
We had an amazing time at the Dalton Triple and Specialty shows this weekend. Thrilled to have the opportunity to see and visit with all our bunny friends. There was an outstanding turnout of Silver Fix to the tables this show. And the quality was outstanding as well. The best shows are when we really make them look deep to pick those title wins. Congrats to not only the title winners, but all of those in the top 5 on the larger classes because competition was steep.
We Granded two of our homegrowns, LC's Tsunami and LC's R***r. They are both gorgeous bucks that we hope will continue to improve our herd.
These two boys are needing flocks of their own. The white one is massive and his dark feathers are iridescent. He is gorgeous, but we have his father already, so he has to go. The red has a beautiful glossy sheen to his feathers. He is a little smaller than his brother. Please let us know if you want to talk about them. They are excellent animals and I am trying to not cull them if someone has a need for them.
Had a great day at the Dalton Triple Show 2022 today. Happy to see some of our bunny friends, and missed the ones that couldn't attend. Hopefully we can all make it to the next Dalton show in March.
Little Critters Tsunami got his 4th leg today with a BOS win in show C. He is now Grand Champion eligible ❤❤
Little Critters R***r won his first two legs today. He won BOS in both show A and show B. He just needs one more leg for him to be Granded.
More home grown Grand Champions on the way ❤. We hope for a bigger turnout in March for Georgia Silver Fox Rabbit Breeders specialty show!! If you haven't shown before, come give it a try. There are a lot of us willing to help you with any questions or show jitters you might have. The more the merrier!!
Naptime. Clearly this guy is going to be a cuddle bug. One of our 3 week olds along with our four 1 week old babies. 🥰

LC's Black Betty. Dob 5/14/21. She carries white and has a 50% chance at carrying blue. If you want to talk about her, please pm us.
From LC's Snow White X LC's Elvis
Only grow out we have left until around February.
Finally our first litters of the season.
LC's Janis Joplin X LC's Tsunami (4 legs) gave us 7 beautiful kits. 4 blacks and 3 blues that all have a 50% chance at carrying white.
Grand Champion LC's Abby X LC's Tsunami (4 legs) only gave us two survivors. There was a third that didn't make it. However, they are massive. Starting at nearly twice the size of the other litter. Hopefully they will have a good growth rate and type 🤞

We have two young roosters that are up for discussion. Super friendly as the kids have raised them hands on. They are barnyard mixes. Rhode Island red, Rhode Island White, and Americauna in their lines.
Well, I guess we raised pet chickens this time....they have no problem riding along with the kids.
This is Little Critters Wesson. He is up for discussion via PM. He is from LC's Janis Joplin and LC's Tsunami. There is a 50% chance that he carries blue and/or white. He is a sweet heart. He is the only one left we have to talk about until early next year.
We have some new additions to the homestead. We had decided not to hatch a batch of chickens this year, but changed our minds this late in the year and had a mini hatching. Only 4 little chicks. I already see the difference in them compared to our larger batches. They have no fear and run to us for protection. They fall asleep in our hands. So sweet 🥰. Now we just have to pray they are hens 🤞🤞
This is so true regarding any type of homestead or home grown project! There is a ton of money, work, and planning that has gone into every plant or animal produced. Respect your farmers/ranchers and don't aim for grocery store prices from a homegrown business. We have put a lot into this and we appreciate our customers that understand that.
A CONVERSATION ABOUT PERCEIVED VALUE:
A customer asked me how much it would cost for a pasture raised chicken.
I gave them a price of $4/ lb.
The customer responded: That’s seems really high.
I asked: What do you think is a reasonable price for this?
The customer answered: $2 maximum
I responded: Ok, then I invite you to grow it yourself.
The customer answered: I don't know how to.
I responded: Alright, then how about for $2 /lb, I'll teach you how to. So besides saving you $2 / lb, you'll learn valuable skills that will benefit you in the future.
The customer answered: Sounds good! Let’s do it!
I responded: Great! To get started, you are going to need some things. You will need a day old broiler chicken, 12 lb. of quality feed, feeders, waterers, an area inside to raise this bird for the first 3 weeks, electricity for this indoor area, a quality pasture area for this bird to live on for its remaining 4 weeks, an outdoor shelter, countless gallons of water, electric poultry fencing to protect this bird, etc. Not to mention, there is a very real possibility that your single chicken, doesnt survive the 8 weeks it takes to grow. Injury, illness, and unexpected weather conditions are always present. Now, you are back to square 1.
The customer answered: But I don't have any of those things and I can't justify buying all of these for one chicken.
I responded: Ok. Well then for an additional $1.50 / lb, I can rent my supplies, building, and pasture to you to use to grow this little chick.
The customer answered: Okay. That’s fair.
I responded: Great! We will start the project on Monday.
The customer answered: I work Monday through Friday. I’m only available on the weekends.
I responded: If you want to learn from me then you will need to work when I work. This project will take 8 weeks, so you will need to be here at least an hour every day for the next 56 days.
The customer answered: That means I’m going to have to sacrifice my time for 56 days.
I responded: That’s true. Remember, when you do a job yourself you need to account for unproductive factors.
The customer answered: What do you mean by that?
I responded: Raising a chicken completely from start to finish includes time spent to plan the project, pick up materials, travel time, gas, set up time, clean up, and waste disposal amongst other things. That’s all in addition to the actual project itself. And speaking of materials, that’s where we will start on Monday so I need you to meet me at the feed at 6:00am.
The customer answered: At 6am?!! My work day doesn’t usually start until 8am!
I responded: Well then you’re in luck! The Chick shipment will arrive at 8am. We'll start then, but to do so we have to start at 6am to get materials picked up, loaded and delivered to the farm. Then I need you back here after you've worked all day to move your bird to fresh pasture every day. Saturday and Sunday included. No days off here.
The customer answered: You know, I’m realizing that a lot more goes in to quality food than what a customer sees in the finished project. Your proposal of $4 / pound is very reasonable. I would like you to grow my chicken.
