(Pure Heirloom Hindu Kush Cultivar from British Columbia)

Our Purple Kush is one of the many “Kush” genetics that have found themselves revered throughout the cannabis world. All “Hindu Kush” cuts that have circulated through the west coast cannabis scene since the late 1970’s, originally hail from the famous Hindu Kush mountain range spanning Afghanistan and Pakistan, and home to many famous hash producing valleys (Chitral, Tirah, etc). The fact that the hashish from this region is undeniably some of the very best in the world is undisputed. It’s not hard to see that the genetics from this region have been heavily selected over the centuries to create an effect that focuses energy, and induces clarity for meditation.

Amazing strains can’t be created in a matter of months or even years. It takes decades to refine a strains characteristics, and Landraces have had centuries to do just that. Good cannabis isn’t just dependent on the best farming practices, but also finding the best genetics for the situation.

Our creation of “Chocolope Chocolate Thai”, predominantly Sativa Dominant Hybrid, has a seriously complicated and amazing heritage!!! And even more amazing of a smoke!!!💯🔥💯🔥

You’ll hear us reference the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s as the pivotal moment in cannabis history as these classic strains flourished the American black market.

This amazing classic sativa strain, chocolate Thai (Thailand Landrace) was introduced into the US in the 70s and flourished till the early 80s.

Meanwhile, chocolope itself is a hybrid cross between chocolate Thai x Cannalope Haze.

Cannalope Haze, genetics produced by “DNA Genetics” using genetics originally created by the Haze brothers called “The Haze” in the mid 1970s, has a complex genetic lineage.

Originating with a cross between Michoacán Mexican landrace🇲🇽X Colombian landrace🇨🇴The female was then crossed with a Southern Indian landrace🇮🇳; and the female produced from that was crossed with a Thailand Landrace🇹🇭 (Chocolate Thai) to create a wonderfully complex sativa hybrid.
(This made it incredibly hard to maintain and grow indoors, so they crossed it with indica strains to adapt for indoor growers.)

This old school sativa strain has actual globs of resin oozing out of the flower!
She hits you with an intoxicating Sandlewood aroma and a tasty profile of lavender, chocolate musk 🍫 with a hint of vanilla.

🔥🇲🇽”Michoacán” 🇲🇽🔥
💚Mexican Landrace Genetics💚
This pure sativa landrace, originating from Michoacán (a state on the pacific coast of central Mexico), gained its notoriety along with many other Mexican landrace genetics in the 1960s.

Due to invasions of unwanted guests into the farms across Mexico over the last 40 years, these genetics have been diluted by the introduction of other Randomized hybrid genetics. (The equivalent of spraying graffiti on a classic ‘Van Gogh’ painting)

This emphasizes the importance of preserving the pure genetics and is exactly the mission that our operation stands for.

Luckily, We started our collection and preservation of landrace genetics as early as 1964 by our Co-Founder Richard Crombie, who started this operation with his son Patrick. His efforts in the collection of various landraces started during his tour through SE Asia, and continued to collect seeds for decades later until his passing in 2018. Our team here at OWO continues to preserve, grow, and flower these beautiful landrace genetics to share with the cannabis community.

This sativa-dominant F1 hybrid has been such a fun project and these ladies have been an absolute pleasure to work with. Definitely a far cry from the original lines used in this cross (mainly structurally, flowering time, intersex rates, etc.) It’s always amazing to see how adaptable these plants are. These genetics originate around the Himalayan mountain range and the Rolpa District in mid-western Nepal🌱

After selecting and stabilizing our favorite phenotypes from both lines, we took our four best Panama Red mothers and crossed them with our two best Afghani studs in a controlled open pollination, in order to maintain maximum genetic diversity in the offspring. 🔥🔥🔥
The results have been nothing but stellar, and we’re so excited to bring this incredible pairing to the people of Oregon! . Few strains have gained as much notoriety in cannabis culture as the legendary Panama Red of the 1970s.
