On November 1, close to 42 million people will lose access to their Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits, and are at risk of going hungry. SNAP provides children, families, and adults of all ages (including many in the food service industry) with crucial funds for food and groceries.
In previous government shutdowns, SNAP has always been funded. Contingency funds are available this time, too and transfer authority to fully fund November SNAP benefits.
Action is needed NOW and our ask is simple: call your members of Congress and tell them to put pressure on the USDA to release those funds!
