We’ve been getting a lot of questions about our carbon program and what are carbon credits and what they are worth and how can they be sold. Nutrien has launched a pilot program for carbon capture and is planning to work with our grower customers in the future to track their carbon footprint and help them become more sustainable in the future, and be able to profit off of that sustainability. However we are still in the development stages on this program and we still do not know what this will mean for our customers this year. We will let our customers know as soon as we do what they need to do to document and sell the carbon they capture. For now you can use tools like the USDA COMET farm tool (attached in link) to see what the carbon amount you are currently capturing and what implementing new practices like cover crops or buffer strips and how much more carbon that would capture on your farm. We look forward to working with our customers in the future and helping them propel into the future of agriculture production.

Check out our drone footage of our plot. As you can see some hybrids stood up to the wind better than others. Make sure you pay attention to stalk and root strength ratings of hybrids as well as the #1 factor yield. We recommend to pick hybrids that have a perfect “trifecta” of good roots, stalks and yield. With an offering of 4 name brand seed companies it allows us to have a broad and solid seed portfolio. Ask your Nutrien Ag Solutions agronomist about which hybrids best fit your farm today!
