Oh hey! Long time no MUSH👋. How’s everyone doing? A lot has changed since our last Mushbloom update last November. Think it’s finallyy time to pop in on the socials for a semi formal “Hello!”. Now that it is summer (happy solstice 🌞) and we have been getting asked the question it feels every time we venture out… We can officially announce Mushbloom will be coming back🎉 When? Well, I guess we like to keep you on your toes! With lots of planning ahead of us, we are currently in the process of finalizing build plans in a new space, raising funds (more details to come), and trying our best to strategically make this work for the long run considering we are sort of starting all but scratch again. We have appreciated the enthusiasm from those eager to see us at markets and local menus once again and thank you for your patience. Hope to see you all around and this time with some more positive news to share🧡🍄‍🟫💚 In the meantime here are some pics from our off-season adventures late winter/early spring’24 🙂

With gratitude, Sam and Cam

Hello! Here’s an important update on the Fall and Winter Season of Mushbloom🍁🚨❄️
Firstly, thank you all 🧡 To every organization, customer, and fellow fungi enthusiast who has made this a wonderful experience for us thus far. This market season has showed us what we are capable of, what our options may be moving forward, and how growing food can grow community.

One of the cool things about mushroom farming is that depending on the operation, it is possible to farm through winter. We were planning to bring more mushies and different varieties to you the next few months but, unfortunately we have stopped production earlier than planned. To those who were looking forward to that, we send our apologies. Being young, first-generation farmers has it’s ups and downs. Farming has served us well this year but as renters, unfortunately some things are out of our control. We have explored our options and feel we need to do what makes the most sense for our situation, our wellbeing, and for us financially. We have a lot going on! All that considered, we have decided that Mushbloom has officially started winter hibernation. If you have visited us at the Athens Farmers Market or kept up with our stories the past few weeks, you are aware that this past Saturday 10/21 was our last market of the season. Definitely an exciting market to end on ! (The Halloween Bash🎃If you are wondering why we are dressed as snails 🐌😎)

At this time it is difficult to say when and if we will be back up producing and fruiting in 2024. In the mean time, we will still probably pop in on social media here and there to share some fun wild fungi, food content, and to keep you in the loop on our journey. We appreciate your support 🧡

Thank you for blooming with us.
Mush love and gratitude,
Sam and Cam of Mushbloom Gardens

Good morning! See you soon .ohio 9-12pm 🌦️

These pioppinos are showing a great visual of how mushrooms can change color with age. They can develop or lose pigmentation depending on light, growth stage, and/or simply genetics. At first glance you may think these are two different strains or two completely different species. They are the same! How cool. Sorta reminds me of apples or peaches…sort of.
