See you in the morn’ at our Athens Farmstand SATURDAY 10AM-1PM at 39 2nd Street @ the Senior Center Parking Lot. 😙 The crop of the week is BOK CHOY.

This is our 4th year trying bok choy and the first year we’ve had a decent harvest. Brassicas like bok choy have been tough to get right with our temperamental springs and lack of pesticides. After LoTs of trial and error we’re thrilled to FINALLY see some good results!

Swing by and grab some along with other veggies for the long weekend….and may I suggest flowers?! 🌼🍀🤩

🚨 Athens Farmstand Open Sat. May 9th. 10AM-1PM at 39 2nd Street in Athens -- the Rivertown Senior Center parking lot. Help us spread the news! 🚨 We'll be there every Saturday for the rest of the season with fresh vegetables and flowers grown by us for you. No pesticides. No chemicals. Just healthy soil, quality compost, and a lot of hard work!

We’re coming out of our winter hibernation to start up the farm for 2026. Thank you to all of our customers for making 2025 a great year. Getting to meet so many people and be connected to the community has been by far the best part of our farm.

This season we will be once again doing our Saturday Farmstand in Athens stocked with seasonal veggies and flowers, and we will offer online orders with local pickup throughout the season. The first day of the season will be Saturday, May 9, when we will have Mother’s Day flowers and fresh spring greens.

We’re dreaming about the fresh veggies and blooms coming this spring, summer and fall.

Compensation: $20/hour

Vernon Street Farm is looking to hire a farm crew member for the 2026 season. We will have a two-person team this summer running our small but very serious and very productive farm. It is our 4th season of commercial flower and veg production. You would work with the farm owner on all aspects of farm operation, including field prep, planting, cultivation, plant maintenance, harvesting, and processing both vegetables and flowers.

Athens Farmstand open Sat 10/25 🫡 Exciting news, WE HAVE JAPANESE SWEET POTATOES. This is our 3rd year trying to grow them and finally have a decent harvest. If you haven’t had them before, these Japanese murasaki sweet potatoes are less sweet than the yellow sweet potatoes you might be familiar with, but have a lovely chestnut like flavor. A Fall favorite for those who know! We’ll have some at the farmstand this weekend along with green tomatoes 🍀 Full list below!
