It’s candle day 7 over here and I’m so excited to share an update! 🐣✨

Out of the 13 eggs we added, 12 are developing beautifully with tiny growing chicks inside! One ended up being unfertilized, but that still leaves us with a strong little group coming along perfectly.

This hatch includes:
• 4 backyard mix babies
• 4 Mille Fleur d’Uccle bantams
• 4 Silkies

It’s always such an amazing experience watching life develop day by day. I can’t wait to continue this journey and see these little ones grow! 💛

We’re kicking off another incubation round! 🐣✨

Over the next 21 days, we have 13 possible little chicks getting ready to make their debut! This batch includes:
• 4 Silkies
• 4 Mille Fleur d’Uccle bantams
• 4 backyard mixes
• 1 mystery egg 👀

There’s nothing quite like the excitement and anticipation of this process—watching and waiting to see who hatches and what unique little personalities we’ll get this time!

Stay tuned for updates… the countdown officially begins! 🐥💛

Our very first hatching journey started with 12 eggs… and a whole lot of hope 🤍

Four of those babies were already in the process of hatching when I received them (some of the dates were a little off), while the other eight were all close in age and began their journey together here with me.

In the end, three sweet chicks made their way into the world—each arriving on their own timeline. One hatched on March 28th, another on April 5th, and our last little fighter began hatching on April 8th. That final baby worked so hard for 34 hours… but sadly didn’t make it. A reminder that even in something so beautiful, there can still be heartbreak.

But through it all, we officially completed our very first hatch 🐣

Meet the babies:
✨ Rotisserie – our little black chick (maybe frizzle, it’s feathers are curling up in some places)
✨ Easter – a soft white/silver/brown beauty, and I’m so excited to see what feather style this one grows into… I’ve never had one quite like this before!

This experience has been such a mix of emotions—learning, patience, joy, and loss—but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

And now… we’re getting everything ready to start another round of hatching soon 🤎

A little Olive Egger update + fun facts 💚🐔

These six girls came home with me on March 8th when they were just a couple days old, which puts them right around 6 weeks old now—and they are hitting that fast-growing stage!

For anyone who doesn’t know, Olive Eggers aren’t a true “breed,” but a cross—typically between a blue egg layer (like an Ameraucana or Easter Egger) and a dark brown egg layer (like a Marans). That mix is what gives them their beautiful olive-green eggs 🫒🥚 And the fun part? No two Olive Eggers look exactly the same or lay the exact same shade of green.

Right now, they’re in the transition phase—spending their days in the run with our one-year-old hens, learning flock dynamics, pecking order, and all the important chicken manners. At night, they go into their own coop to stay safe and stress-free while they’re still smaller.

At this age, they’re feathered out pretty well but still not quite full size, which is why I’m easing them into everything slowly. I’ll admit—I’m still a little cautious about having them fully integrated in a smaller shared space just yet. It’s all about keeping them safe while they grow strong and confident.

They’re already showing so much personality, and I’m so excited to see the egg colors they’ll give us in a few months!

🐣🥚 A Very Special Easter Hatch 🥚🐣

Right on Easter Day, something extra magical happened in our hatchery…

This tiny little miracle made its way into the world, still wet, wobbly, and surrounded by pieces of the shell it just broke free from 🥹💛

Meet Easter 🐥✨

There’s nothing quite like witnessing a hatch, but an Easter hatch? That just hits a little different. New life, new beginnings, and the sweetest reminder of how beautiful this journey is.

Welcome to the world, sweet baby. We’re already so in love 🐣🌸

There’s just something so satisfying about a basket full of fresh eggs 🥚✨

Different shades, different sizes, all laid with care by our girls—each one a little reminder of the love and work that goes into our flock every single day. From soft creams to warm browns, no two are ever exactly the same, and that’s my favorite part.

This is why we do it. Fresh, beautiful, homegrown goodness straight from our coop to our kitchen 🤍

Nothing better.

Okay but… can you have a favorite? Asking for a friend 😅🐓

This is Prim 🤎 our little partridge silkie… and let’s just say she/he might accidentally get a little extra love around here.

Prim is the quiet observer of the flock. Always watching, always taking everything in, with those sweet little eyes and that soft, earthy coloring that just melts me every time. There’s something about this one… calm, gentle, and just a tiny bit mysterious.

We don’t know yet if Prim is a she or a he—but honestly, it doesn’t even matter. This baby has completely stolen our hearts either way 🥹

Tell me I’m not the only one with a “not favorite” favorite… right?! 😂💕

✨ Meet My Flock ✨

If you’ve ever wondered who’s behind all the fluff, sass, and personality over here… let me introduce you to my sweet little crew 🐓💛

🤍 Hey Hey – White SilkiePure, fluffy perfection. Sweet, curious, and just a little bit dramatic (in the cutest way).

🌫 Tweety – Splash SilkieSoft, dreamy, and totally unique. She/he has that watercolor look and a gentle personality to match.

✨ Milky Way – Frizzle SilkieWild hair, don’t care. This girl is ALL personality with those curly feathers and spunky attitude.

🍁 Prim – Partridge SilkieElegant and observant. She/he is the quiet beauty of the flock but always watching everything.

🌌 Midnight – Blue SilkieDark, moody, and absolutely stunning. She/he has got that mysterious vibe and I love it.

🖤 Crow – Blue SilkieBold and curious. Always on the move and keeping things interesting around here.

Every single one of them has their own personality, and honestly… they run this place 😂💕 can not wait to get dna testing on our flock to know for sure 🤍
