The Return of Wine! Pizza!! Cake!!!

This Sunday, August 9th we’ll be pouring a delicious and ecclectic selection of sparkling wines, our favorite Chicago tavern-style pizza pop-up, Flat Circle will be out back slinging up thin and crispy pies, and the Grande Dame of Dessert (unofficial title), pastry chef Gayle Norton is serving up decadent and inspired cake slices. Fun kicks off at 2pm; in honor of the lazy days of summer, this is not a ticketed or RSVP event, just a casual afternoon hang, so first come first served while supplies last. See you then!

🚨 We have a special bonus Monday Bottle to kick the week off right! Come grab a pour of Birdscape by Christian Tschida, one of our very favorite reds in the shop that is showing particularly splendid today; juicy yet graceful, and so refreshing with a chill.
Winemaker’s note: “The vivid phantasy of a small, colorful plot, high up on the
verge of the forest finding its essence in a wine that has its very own definition: light and fresh like a rosé, then deep and highly aromatic like a red. A base of Blaufrankisch with several other grapes dancing together.

Bastille Day may be next week, but we celebrate the magic of French wine EVERY DAY at the Lark. Which is why we are thrilled to welcome Dominique Sirot- half of the partnership behind the magic that is Le Fief Noir-to the space for a very special tasting takeover on Wednesday July 22nd!

Le Fief Noir is Dominique Sirot and Alexis Soulas, 2 winemakers who met working in Corsica. Their estate is in the village of St-Lambert du Lattay, in the heart of the “Anjou Noir,” which takes its name from the black Schist soil that dominates the terroir here. This soil is ideal for Chenin Blanc, and also the ethereal reds they produce from the rare Grolleau and Pineau d’aunis grapes. From 5pm-6:30pm we’ll be hosting a happy hour tasting takeover in the space with Dommique and 3 outstanding wines. Our neighbors Dovetail Market will have a special menu that night to pair with the wines for 6pm-8pm seating; think of it as a wine dinner, deconstructed. No reservations, just swing by for the happy hour or dinner (or both) meet Dominique, and learn more about this special place in the Loire Valley. More details coming soon, we hope to see you then!
