Hello wonderful friends and neighbors! We are getting lots of messages about honey. I understand the allergies. This year has been epic. Most days. I think I can feel the gritty pollen in my teeth.

BUT right now the girls are super busy building up their populations into big strong hives just in time for the nectar flow.

All this pollen=baby bees!

Which means there isn’t honey to harvest, and what is in the hives is being fed to the little ones.

Never fear. Once the sugar maples start blooming (any day now), the nectar flow will begin! The bees will bring in all that spring nectar and make it into honey. I usually do my first harvest and bottling in late May.

As soon as my buzzy girls and I have some spring honey available, I’ll post here and let y’all know.

Tomorrow is with Friendly City Festivals right here in Athens! Come down, stop by, and say hello! This is pretty much our only local festival, so this is your chance to shop in-person for honey, soap, and handmade gifts and accessories from the wool of the flerd.

Honey is bottled, labeled, listed, and live! It has been one heck of a year and I’m so thankful to have this harvest.

As I mentioned before, the wonky and very wet weather meant for a limited May flow. Now it is hotter than the hinges of hell, and that made for a limited June flow.

BUT my girls still came through for me, just with a bit less honey per hive than normal years.

AND I decided to leave more honey on the hives and skip July harvest. If the weather continues to be wonky, I want my girls to have reserves.

So! Instead of having a lot of smaller batches of different hives, we did combine honey with similar flavor profiles this year. And as such, we are thrilled to offer:

Mild and Sweet Honey from Queens Norah and Kit
Sweet, Floral and Creamy from Queens Ivy and Tetra
Twangy Honey from Queen Rosalee
Earthy and Rich Honey from Queens Meg and Andy
And Comb Honey chunk style from Queen Isabelle

Prices remain the same- $12/lb, and I have 1 and 2 pound jars. I will ship the comb in the jam and 1/2 pint jars, but not the full pint.
Shipping is $8 flat rate. I can bring Knoxville orders to the Market Square Farmers Market, and local orders can pickup as scheduled.

And as I mentioned before, supplies are limited. Just one of those years.
