Collected the last sap of 2026 tonight and it will be our last boil. Not a bad season for 6 weeks worth of work. Hopefully will end up with about 265 gallons total. Thankful for all the help from my family and the Kelly Barrett crew up the road. Let us know if you need any syrup or maple cream.

Had a few visitors tonight! The Athens Ag Teacher crew and families. We went through the maple making process and also "march 2, 3 4rd" a couple times. Thanks for stopping by!

🍁Tapping is completed with about 800 taps this year. Things are slowly thawing with very little sap flow so far. Sugar content is low, testing just 1% sugar. This means it will take about 86 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup. Basically, what that means is we are getting half the crop yield with higher expenses. But, that's farming I guess.

Tapping officially started today! Have about 525 taps in and another 300 or so to go. Thankful the boys are pretty well healed up from sports injuries and able to help out!

Well, we started working in the woods about 2 weeks ago to prepare for this maple season, but today's weather is just a bit chilly. Marvin says we should stay inside by the fire. I have to agree.
