Micah Shaw, John Haley, and Matthew Hinton... One brother joined by his brother-in-laws in a quest for amazing brew. Micah and John began their love of beer very late in life due to not being exposed to real beer until their 30's. Thanks to the fine selection and education they received from Eric Johnson at Trappeze Pub (trappezepub.com) in Athens, GA, a whole new world opened up to them...they qu

ickly invited Matt to join in. While all of us were in post-grad studies, our budgets for our new found vice did not match the high cost of what we wanted. So in an attempt to save money and to still be able to enjoy high-quality hand crafted beer...Shaley brewery was started. After graduations and relocation, the "ton" from Hinton joined the brewery. While we probably ended up spending more money on equipment than we would have saved from sticking to buying beer...our beer is good, it is fun to brew, and we the only regret we have is that we can't brew enough!
