I've always had a passion for baking and organic foods; both of which I can utilize with this business. One day while trying to buy pre-made organic cookie dough at my local food co-op I was surprised when I couldn't find any. After looking online I realized that not only are there very few companies that sell pre-made organic cookie dough but that this cookie dough is also extremely expensive. As
a student trying to pay for college it was impossible for me to pay over $30 for only make 1 dozen cookies. Thus, the idea for Krista's Organic Cookie Dough was born. I began selling locally to my small Vermont community in June 2012 and the response was great. As news of my business spread I was featured in three local newspapers and also launched a website so that people outside of my community could enjoy delicious yet affordable organic cookie dough and as a way to help me pay for my college expenses. I've since shipped to several states including: New Hampshire, Connecticut, Louisiana, Maine and Texas. Since I make each batch individually for each customer I'm able to work with food allergies. If you have allergies or have a special diet (such as vegan or gluten free) I am able to make dough that works with your needs. During the school year (September-April, excluding December and early January) I make dough at my college in Siloam Springs, AR and am able to ship it anywhere in the United States. Orders can be placed on my website. During the Summer and Holidays, I still offer shipping but am also able to deliver locally (Brattleboro VT area) for *FREE*. LONG TERM GOALS:
1. Begin selling at local farmers markets in both Siloam Springs and Southern VT.
2. Eventually have dough for sale in local food co-ops and other small stores.
3. Be able to pay for my college books from dough profit each semester.
