Cedar Mountain Farm Bed and Breakfast

Cedar Mountain Farm Bed and Breakfast Welcome to Cedar Mountain Farm B & B! Between Sandpoint and Coeur d'Alene, ID. 2 miles from Silverwood! A Bed and Breakfast on our family farm?
(325)

Who was thinking of B & B’s and agritourism in 1950 when Dad and Mom Hatch purchased Cedar Mountain Farm? This perfect spot midway between Sandpoint and Coeur d’Alene, Idaho was my (Daryl’s) home from age 4 until I went to college. I met Al at the University of Idaho (an Illinois boy who came out west to study forestry) where we attended the same church. One day Al asked me if I was walking home a

lone after church. “Yes,” I replied. “You’re not anymore,” was his romantic come back. (Now-a-days we drive home from Anthem Friend’s Church in Hayden Lake. Too far to walk!)

We married in 1967. Al served the next five years in the Air Force. I completed my Music degree at USC in Los Angeles. (That was a big city experience for a farm girl!) After leaving the Air Force, Al studied two more years for a Masters In Outdoor Recreation in Fort Collins, Colorado. I milked cows on a dairy farm in exchange for housing in the country! Our next stop…North Idaho. In 1974 we settled here at the base of Cedar Mountain. I’ve milked cows and goats, made cheeses and soaps, and love to garden. Al has selectively logged the forest land of our farm. Seven grown children call Cedar Mountain “home.” We hand crafted the log cabins from timber harvested off the property with lots of help from family and friends. You might say that Cedar Mountain Farm Bed & Breakfast is a built with love from the ground up! We couldn’t be happier! What a blessing to be visited almost every week either by a new comer or a guest who has become a friend and returned to stay again. We delight in welcoming you to this magical corner of the world we love and call home.

These pictures are from yesterday, when a snowstorm rolled through the farm. We thought spring was just around the corner, but winter had other plans! The farm woke up to another beautiful snow day. Today is bright and sunny!

A blanket of snow covers the farm and barnyard. The quiet, crisp winter air brings a peaceful kind of refreshment.
