Make sure to bring the kids by for a day of fun featuring multiple inflatables for kids (courtesy of Jump Time Georgia), fall crafts, pumpkin painting, cotton candy, and fresh popcorn! 🍿🍭🏰

We are only 4 days away from Unearthing Unleaded! 🌱 🥳

Today we are highlighting the three workshops we will be hosting throughout the event:

Crop Planning 101: Backyard Food Garden (3 PM) 🪏🌷
We will talk through the basics of planning an edible garden, starting with the things to do/plant in the fall to prep for spring planting and harvest. We will discuss small scale crop rotation, timing and space, cover crops and soil fertility, and more. Participants will receive a handout they can use to plan their home veggie garden.

Natural Pigments from Kitchen Ingredients (4 PM) 💧
This workshop is focused on natural pigments created from common foods and beverages for use as watercolors. The process is simple and only requires a burner, a pot, water and plant material to produce with other effects being achieved with additional ingredients. Some of these pigments can also be used to dye natural fabrics. I often use vegetable scraps which still make it to the compost or leftover tea/coffee.

Korean Natural Farming: EM-1 (5 PM) 🪴
How to make EM-1, what it is, and its function in the garden.

We can't wait to see everyone back at the farm in just a few days!

Come celebrate this huge milestone for Unearthing Farm & Market. It’s the perfect opportunity to reconnect with neighbors, explore the freshly revamped grounds, and welcome back our favorite residents: the chickens, goats, pigs, and bunnies after their temporary summer vacation. 🐰 🐷 🐔 🐐

🎃 Meet this week's market standout: Pumpkins!

From classic jack-o’-lanterns to varieties perfect for roasting, pumpkins are one of fall’s most iconic crops. Packed with nutrients and naturally rich in flavor, pumpkins can be used in everything from soups and stews to breads, pies, and even roasted seeds. 🍂

We'll have a limited supply of both carving and pie style pumpkins available this Saturday, so come early if you'd like to take some home!

📍 Join us from 10 AM – 2 PM back home at 1534 Memorial Dr SE, Atlanta, GA.

As always, our farm stand is pay-what-you-can, no one is turned away for lack of funds, and we double EBT to help make fresh, local food accessible to everyone. 💚
