Did yall know that turkeys read Facebook??? Just a few hours after posting about the slow start this season, listing the Reds first, what do we find??? 3 of 4 Bourbon Red hens in the box trying to out do the others being in the nesting box at the same time with #4 walking around squawking like where do I lay an egg?🤣🤣🤣🦃🦃🦃

So ya wanna be a turkey farmer🤣
Comparison, last year to this year so far.
Bourbon Red 2025, 2 hatches into the incubator by 3/25, 43 total. 2026, 3/25, the ladies have only given us 10. Zero into incubators so far.
Eastern turkey, 2025, 30 in for 2 hatches. Only 13 so far.
Royal Palm, 13 in for 2nd hatch date in 2025. 9 in 2026.
Bronze 23 in 25, 15 in26.
Narragansetts improved by 1. 7 last year, 8 so far in 26.
The surprise of 26??
Our mutts, the Barnyard mix! Only 5 at this time last year. As of today, 36 with them having the 1st hatch all them to themselves. And 3 eggs a day or more.
So if you have babies on order, this is the reason for some being delayed. And if you haven't ordered yet, the ladies will do their best to help🤞
And if anyone has a working crystal ball, I would like to borrow it next year😁

The green flag has dropped! We are on our way! 1st in for 2026 & my Barnyard mix turkey hens are the only ones to have looked at the calendar. All the others will hopefully play catchup this week.
Also if you message me , I may not get back right away. Someone asked about getting 100 early in the year, & the other day someone wanted50 Eastern. Now I can't see their messages. Maybe they changed their mind. Regardless, the hatches are selling out so if ya want em, best just go ahead & get them. Tomorrow may be too late!😁
