Pour: Archer Eland Suede Straight Rye Whiskey, aged 7 years, 126 proof

Some things get misread at first glance.
That’s what stayed with me about this pour.

On paper, a 126-proof rye can make people think they already know what they’re getting. But every now and then, a bottle reminds you that strength and nuance can live in the same glass.

And honestly, life will teach you that too.

The closer I get to retirement, the more I appreciate what it means to be seen in full — not just for the edge, not just for the proof, but for the depth and shape underneath it.
