Series Description:
Gather: Ghana is a modern pop-up tasting series inspired by Suzanne Barr’s journey through Ghana and her ongoing exploration of the modern Afro-Caribbean cuisine. Each gathering invites guests to taste the migration of flavors from West Africa to the Caribbean to the North American to the American South — through a curated menu of storytelling, heritage, and innovation.

Blending ancestral techniques with contemporary expression, Gather is both a celebration and a conversation honoring where we come from and imagining where we can go when we gather around the table together.

Hey Fam… peace and prayers out to the Caribbean! Hurricane Melissa wrecked havoc on Haiti, Jamaica and Cuba as it moves through the Caribbean Islands. My parent’s birth place 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲Jamaica is trying to build back and recover the missing and feed all that are needing support. Kingston didn’t have as much damage but St. Elizabeth parish where my mum is from was hit the hardest. If you’re in the Atlanta area and can help donate what you can here are a few locations drop off sites. As for items to drop off please DM directly as it is a long list and I can share with you directly. Prayers out to all Caribbean communities impacted by Hurricane Melissa. We are resilient people we will rise from this one step at a time. I leave you with one quote and one proverb: “The courage and daring of the Maroons strike like a purple beam across the history of Jamaica.” - Zora Neale Hurston - “Wah nuh dead, nuh call it duppy” - to never give up and keep pushing forward, even when the odds seem stacked against you.
