In 2019 we took a leap of faith when the world was full of uncertainty and chaos, we opened Sunset Slush of Emerald Isle, NC in a very tiny shack with a roll up door and no A/C. We were unsure what the summer would bring with everything closed and no one working. We thought it’s still summer and people should still enjoy the outdoors. We were overwhelmed by the response and quickly outgrew our space. So, the next season we were in the retail building on the property with plenty of space and plenty of A/C. Little did we know we would create a tradition for many families to visit us year after year. We are now on year 6 with two store locations at the beach and our mobile trailer in Johnston County where we are from.

Over the years we have spent our summers at the beach working and hustling our slush season. We have debated many times whether we should sell our home in Johnston County and move to the coast. After much discussion we have determined that we want to continue to reside in Johnston County, NC and continue to serve our community here. Our home is on our family’s farm and most all our family and friends are here.

So, it’s time to pass the torch for our coastal stores. We are proud to announce that sunset slush of Atlantic Beach and Emerald Isle, NC are now under new ownership as of June 1,2025 to the Wall family from Gastonia, NC. They currently own a mobile business in Gaston County. So they are very familiar with the product and they plan to keep things similar by keeping the same familiar faces of our staff!

They are excited to start this journey and we hope that ya’ll support them as much as ya’ll have supported us over the years!

My parents are still keeping sunset slush of swansboro and will continue to do all their mobile accounts and neighborhoods on their truck!

Come join us down at the Beach Music festival on the boardwalk in front of the Tacklebox today! The store will be opening at 4pm until 9pm due to the festival!
