For more than 135 years, Galbani Italian cheeses have been providing Ispirazione Italiana to chefs across the globe. Our Story
The Galbani® Professionale™ page gives chefs, restaurateurs, and pizzaioli a place to share ideas, recipes, and their love for Italy’s #1 cheese brand. In 1882, Egidio Galbani and his father Davide founded the “Dairy Davide Galbani” in Ballabio, a small Italian town nestled in the lush valley of the Alps. Success for the Galbani family came quickly, starting with the very first cheese they produced, an uncooked Italian cheese called Robiola Galbani. As word about their products spread, so did their distribution—first throughout Italy, then across borders and soon around the globe, making Galbani the world’s first brand of Italian cheeses. In 2006, Galbani joined Lactalis, the #1 cheese producer in Europe and the #1 dairy group in the world. Today, more than 135 years after Egidio Galbani first opened his dairy near the shores of Lake Lecco, you can find Galbani cheeses proudly sold in more than 140 countries.
