In the Rat Race that is the Angus business we hardly ever get to see mature herd bulls that last for a longtime and that Registered guys continue to use

At 7 years old, Ellingson Oklahoma and Ellingson Teddy take back seats to nobody. No AI’ing in front of them just 35-50 good cows that are all their own

Even neater to see our in herd data, as Oklahoma daughters are off to a hot start ratioing 103 respectively, where as Teddy daughters have become a staple of consistency calving early and ratio’ing 100 with great udder structure

One Oklahoma son is currently being used back in the herd, and I expect a tough decision will come this fall as a few Teddy sons look excellent early on and we know we need to continue his influence

One thing Big R has always said to me is “I want to see good bulls in our pastures breeding cows, it just means something to me to see them”

Congressman is the embodiment of what I want our Angus bulls to look like. I’ve loved him since he was 4 months old

Now at 5 years old, he anchors an awesome set of herd bulls that walk the pastures here. Leaving behind a stout set of commercial cattlemen sons, and daughters that have Angus quality we strive for

Appreciate good friend and great customer, Dylan Miller at the Rockin M for sending a cell phone video of EAG Hawkeye out in the pasture

Hawkeye was a 702 son out of SAV Emblynette 0337. 0337 sadly left us last fall at the age of 15. She was a true workhorse

So much to be thankful for this year

This may have been the fastest year of my life and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon

We’ve got some exciting new things brewing for 2026, it’s truly a great time to be in the COW BUSINESS

I get to work for some of the best customers a young man could ask for!

These family’s trust me, trust that I’m going to stand behind our product, and trust that these bulls will work for them

87% of our bulls went to repeat customers, 5 bulls went to customers that have bought bulls from Big R for 15-20 years, and also sent some great bulls to new, exciting customers

There’s a lot to be thankful for in 2025 in our operation, our customers are at the top of the list!

EAG Prospect- 21171977 & EAG Astro- 21171980
Lead a flush of true performance bulls with Astro having the heaviest actual weight of 1450 on April 1st when bulls came off feed test. They should be the type of bulls that produce steers that are heavyweights that buyers will pay premiums for in this cattle market

Both these bulls are exceptionally long spined, loose hided, straight toed, and are backed by one of my favorite young cows on the place

Their granddam, SAV Blackcap May 1781, was a staple of ours and has 11 daughters working in our herd. They excel for udder quality, productivity, and are overall very easy doing females. 4 of the daughters have been flushed and look to be headliners going forward for our program

EAG Prospect heads to the Taylor family in Texas, we appreciate Randy and Aaron and their trust in us
