This is what happens when your sow has 12 I repeat 12 babies and for some reason decides to check out on being a mother. You end up with 8 dead and one “ missing”. We pretty sure after today she ate it. But not everything about raising animals is pretty. But these littles are gorgeous. We made the decision after losing over half of the original number to pull these from our sow. She will enter the cull program. Sometimes it’s what you have to do.

How does this.. turn into this. Keep in mind these are the same pig one at 10 weeks old and one at 6.5 months old. Good quality feed and a little patience got this barrow big and in a hurry. This is one of the benefits of starting pigs out right so the people who raise them have results like this. We are glad we could help this family have good quality pork that they know exactly what’s “ IN” it.

Minty Girl did a much better job this go around. 6 little blue butts. Three gilts will be available in about 3 weeks. The male is pictured as well he is the only one with a spot and a blue butt.

Some people have wondered how “big” our pigs will get. 5 gallon bucket for scale. We are raising pigs for the folks that want to know what they are eating.

Our girl MINTY. She is due to have some little baby blue butts in about 3 weeks. She is ready as you can tell. AND our baby boar “ BAIN “. He is ready and looking for another set of girls. But he is also gentle and good dispositioned he babysits the weaned pigs for us. Isn’t aggressive just corrective.
