Good afternoon followers. We haven't been posting much to our page lately and we apologize for that. We have been extremely busy.
I would also like to take the opportunity to correct some misinformation about us and our little farm. Let me start by saying we love this.....our little farm is so good for us and our family. The kids love helping us and being part of everything that happens here. That being said, it seems as though some people who follow this page are under the impression that we are rich with money. Lol. Anyone who has grown their own food or raised their own livestock knows that's completely not true. The price of calves alone are astronomical and there is never a guarantee that they live. It's unfortunate but we have lost more calves than we have cows in the pasture. We can only afford to get calves from the stockyard, which generally are a few dollars cheaper and a whole lot sicker, and the price of grain to feed the animals is far from cheap. The time and the cost to grow gardens, raise chickens and pigs. Monetarily we are far from rich, most weeks we struggle. But ya know what, we are rich where it counts.....family. This farm has allowed us to have more family time. It's allowed us to teach the value of hard work. It helps us spend time together, laughing and learning. Through the hard work we raise meat and vegetables for our family that is hormone and steriod free, taste much better and is much better for you.
So are we rich? We are rich in a way that some people can not understand. The cost and the value of farms most people will never understand, our "richness" has zero to do with money, and everything to do with family.
