I started my morning out in the garden with a cup of coffee, the warmth of the sunrise on my face, and the birds waking up around me.
Spending mornings in the garden is one of my most favorite things about this time of year. It's where I think, pray, plan, dream, and just beā¦. But this morning felt different.
As I sat there taking it all in, I started to pray and worship, then the words to Mighty Name of Jesus started flowing from somewhere deep inside me and before I knew it I had joined the birds and was singing too. (Thankfully, my pitchy solo worship service started before my sweet neighbors made their way down the road for their morning walk š
)
Itās a powerful song, "I draw a permanent boundary line. The enemy has no rights to come near my family
No scheme could ever undo God's plans. No matter the circumstance. The cross has sealed my destinyā
And before I knew it, I was crying into my coffee and tomato plants.
What a gift it is to start the day in the presence of God!!! And not just on Sunday.
I've always loved spending my mornings in the garden, but after today, I think I'll be much more intentional about making it a sacred place of prayer too. A place to meet with Jesus before the noise of the day begins.
Before the crowds, before the miracles, before the ministries and the messes of life, there was a garden. A place where God walked with His people. A place of connection, growth, beauty, and purpose. Thatās where it all began. And I am just so grateful for His mercy and love.
Gratitude has a way of pulling me out of every slump I've ever found myself in.
Today, I'm grateful for this little patch of earth right off the road. Grateful for the space to grow flowers and vegetables, to raise sweet babies, and chickens, and to grow alongside the seasons, to gather with a community that continues to grow in the most beautiful ways.
What started as a place to grow things from the ground has become a place where God is growing things in my heart too, but maybe gardens have always been about more than what grows from the soil.
Wishing you all a week full of mercy, gratitude, and moments that bring you a little closer to Jesus too.
Love you š«¶š½āš½
Also, thank you to my sweet friend Terri, who encouraged me to keep sharing my heart and random thought ānobody asked for ā like this. Soo so grateful God brought you into my life!!
