I just learned that because of some late cold weather, that our peach trees are not likely to produce any fruit. I find it quite interesting considering that it hasn’t even budded out yet. 😔 But the experts know better than me. I have 4 peach trees, 4 necterine, 4 apple, and one pear tree. Let’s see how the other fare. 🤷‍♀️

And that’s a (partial) wrap— 38 jugs, buckets, bags removed, as well as the 65 spiles (taps) out, total of 300+/- gallon...

And that’s a (partial) wrap— 38 jugs, buckets, bags removed, as well as the 65 spiles (taps) out, total of 300+/- gallons of sap collected this year- so far one gallon of syrup bottled - still have over 200 gallons of sap to cook down. The weather doesn’t look conducive for sap collection in the next ten days, and those maple buds look ready to bust open. I’ll be cleaning the gear, and feeding the woodstove for the next week, unless anyone has some decent size bitch trees I can tap too?! 🤔 I’ve been dying to try it!

Busy weekend here @ the farm! We finally finished & bottled our first collection of syrup, very dark amber! We also met with Ed Gannon, who was able to put a label together with our input, and we love the finished product, that’s also ready for printing!!! Thank you Mr. Ed!!! Second collection is on the flames, and more ideal weather ahead for more sap!!! Sap,sap, sap, sap, SAP!! 🥰
