Yesterday this happened. It doesn’t happen often, mostly never, but when it does this is what it looks like.

This happens in very rare cases when the water level is just about right below where the blow out is at and the pump runs and runs. While the pump is running it gets hot (it’s a motor). It only happens in low yield wells, when there's no safety on the pressure switch and when there’s not moving water (again very rare cases). This causes the water and air in the well, at that level, to get hot and the pipe to expand and ‘POP’!
