No shortage of milk around here!
We are milking a total of 26 does, with 8 being yearlings, another 5 being first freshening two year olds, and 10 of them are nigerians!

The retained kids are still drinking all they want and I'm still dumping milk. Those are 3.7 gallon pots, but I squeeze more like 4 gallons into each one and this is just my morning milk. This was about 15 hours of milk in the herd, I milk a few hours earlier at night to be able to have a bit of time with my family in the evenings and my growing boys requested sausage and eggs for breakfast today.

GCH Mountain Pines Finn Allyx VEEE91@5&7

I might have a love hate relationship with this goat who is always the trouble maker and who has produced at this time 7 daughters who are also trouble makers! But, Miles loves her and everyone of her daughters and grand daughters! 2027 Miles will have his first American Lamancha kids hit the ground that are Great Granddaughters of this lovely and very productive doe!

Bluebell is a beatiful doe who finished last year as a two year old! She went first in all 5 rings shown in last year, with three times going Grand Champion and two times going Reserve Champion!

I was trying to find something to give my toggenburgs a bit more finish.
Don't bother wasting your money on this one! They said NO WAY! They would not touch it at all!

On the other hand, any of my livestock friends use this product and need a bucket full?

Anyone have suggestions that there herd likes that helps put a finish on your heavy milking standard sized dairy goats? They already get black oil sunflower seeds. They dislike ground flax seed. They do like rice bran, but its not quite as high in fat as BOSS or flax.

Update - a fellow breeder who knows my herd asked to see my girls feed tag and thinks they are getting too much protein this time of year with their alfalfa and lush pasture that they graze on. I'm to add more carbs through cob or barley and rice bran.
Thanks for all of your suggestions!

I was flying solo yesterday at the NVDGA show and could only take what would fit in the cab over on my Toyota Tacoma. Three does, that's all that fit! The back seat and passenger seat were also crammed full of all the supplies needed to properly pamper these girls at the show.
The pictures I had another exhibitor help me take unfortunately did not do them justice. I did remember to get udder pictures of Grace and Marley before I milked them out. Katie's udder picture is from this morning, she has such an incredibly high rear udder and her udder is so snuggly attached even as a 6 year old with 5 freshenings! A fellow toggenburg exhibitor did snap this picture ringside of Katie.
Mountain Pines Rocklin Grace VEEE90@4 went Grand Champion and Best Udder under Scott Horner which was her third milking leg, making her a Permanent Grand Champion! Grace was scratched from the next two rings.
Mountain Pines Ryder Katie VEEE91@5 went Reserve Champion under Scott Horner and earned two Grand Champions and two Best Udder awards under Kris Farley and Kristy Bozzo-Baldenegro also making her now a Permanent Grand Champion! To top it off my beautiful Katie went on to go Best of Show under Kristy Bozzo-Baldenegro!
Mountain Pines Rocklin Marley looked great and picked up a Reserve Champion under Judge Kristy Bozzo-Baldenegro.

Kidding season is officially over!
43 does kidded with 92 kids born
53 buck kids
39 doe kids
Thank you to everyone who trusts my breeding program and purchased a Mountain Pines kid!
We are sold out of buck prospects for 2026. I should get the retained doe kids down to below 20 and we are at 29 right now. I could part with a couple toggenburg doe kids, Miles is willing to part with one really lovely lamancha experimmental, and some nice nigerian doe kids. Kids are priced $700 to $1500 depending on dams appraisal scores and show wins.
All whether prospects and reduced price doe kids out of first fresheners that didn't make my cut have sold.
