It’s been a sad week.
Today, the last of the brewery equipment left the building, and seeing this room completely empty for the first time hits a little harder than I expected.
There’s some comfort in knowing that much of the equipment is headed to other breweries — hopefully helping them continue to operate, grow, or maybe even helping someone open the brewery they’ve been dreaming about.
Closing was still the right decision for our family, and I don’t question that. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t some sadness that comes with it. I think we’ll always have a little bit of emptiness from this chapter ending… kind of like this room has now.
We had a ton of fun over the years. We built something from nothing, made a lot of memories, and met a lot of great people along the way. Many of the people who started out as customers became friends.
So, sincerely, thank you to everyone who walked through our doors, drank our b**r, ate our food, came to an event, brought your family and friends, or simply supported us over the years. You helped make this place what it was.
Now it’s time to figure out what this building gets to become next.
As of right now, the building is still for sale, and we’re going to start putting together some marketing ideas to help people see the possibilities beyond what it used to be.
For example… this old brewhouse already has a trench drain, water, plenty of power, high bay lights, and a big glass viewing wall. Take the brewing equipment away and suddenly it looks like it could make a pretty awesome auto detailing bay.
It could make a really cool shared space where multiple small businesses could get a start. Combine small restaurant, retail, office, auto detailer, shared kitchen for food trucks?
The brewery chapter may be over, but hopefully this building still has a few good stories left in it.
