Well, we are halfway into September and some of you have messaged asking us about pumpkins.
As you know, we normally have our first big pick Labor Day weekend. This year we find ourselves in the same predicament we were in two years ago, with no pumpkins. Early summer we had that bad hail storm come through and hit our plants hard. We were hopeful they would come back, but then with the dry summer we had that just didn’t happen. There were a couple varieties that made it, but they are extra mini. Out of the 4-5 acres we hand planted, we didn’t even get a UTV load full.
You may remember that two years ago, the year we had our first bust crop, we added a little one to our family. Well, fast forward to two years to this September, we just welcomed our littlest. We keep saying it must be a sign we need extra cuddles with the kiddos instead of hours upon hours picking.
We are so sorry for those that were counting on us having our amazing pumpkins again. We are going to miss watching all of the families out here picking the perfect ones! Although we won’t have our pumpkins, don’t forget about us! We still have our roadside stand with homemade items, veggies, eggs, flowers, embroidery and more. Your support means everything! 🤍
