They always say farmers never get rid of anything. this little bulk tank is a prime example.. this tank was the first tank put in by my grandpa in the 1960's. Somewhere around 60 years later, it's still getting used on occasion.. the cows are milking well and we are a little short of room in the big tank so here's to good production. The overflow tank has outlived two milkhouses and is living in the third.. still the original compressor, still charged with R-12.. they certainly don't make them like they used to!

One more interesting fact.. the first milk house the tank was in, it was filled with buckets and a stepsaver. Grandpa built a new barn in 1974 and built the second milkhouse in 1978 when he put the pipeline in

These little girls and boys were excited to take a trip into town for Augusta FFA Ag Day today. I told the eldest child he is lucky he doesn't drive the tractor to school every day. Over $800 worth of fuel to fill up the tank!


Don't worry the baby calves will be back on the farm tonight and you will be able to check in on them at Eau Claire County Breakfast On The Farm June 13th-they will just be larger by then!

Eat, sleep & maybe milk 😉 Cows are milked two to three times daily on dairy farms for an average of 3 to maybe 7 minutes each milking. Here at Karow Farms we milk twice daily. That is a lot of time left in the day to eat, relax, sleep, and chew their cud.

I might have gotten frost bite mowing lawn this a.m. but the cows were excited for the extra grass clippings I blew their way! It doesn't take much to entertain a bunch of Jerseys either. 😊
