I’ve been away a while again so here is a farm update!!

It’s like spring time over here!!! We have new babies of all kinds right now and we LOVE it!!!!

We have two new bottle calves. We planned on picking one up on Sunday (the black and white) and my uncle called us on Friday because he had a cow get struck by lightning and he couldn’t find her calf. About a week later she(black calf) showed up so we are getting to love on her now❤️

Daisy had her baby (white calf) yesterday and so did another one of our cows but she doesn’t want us to get close yet.

We also thought two of our chickens disappeared but nope they were hiding out hatching babies!!

We also have new barn kitties that are so cute and playful!!!

We have more calves due soon plus our milk cows are due in early spring (unfortunately at the same time)!

This day is a hard one. We said goodbye to Frank and Spanky. If you have been here a while you know Frank and his birth story. We got to love on him every single day and we are so grateful for him. Spanky was a 40lb bottle calf that we got to raise for the last two years. I have cried most of the day today but I know we gave them so much love and they will be taking care of our family now. I will forever have a special place in my heart for both❤️

This ice cream machine is one of the BEST thrift store purchases ever!!!! When you have your own milk cows you get to make a lot of ice cream (I even made it for breakfast for the kids)!!! It’s basically health food😉 but really this makes a 1/2 gallon of ice cream!!

After a much needed FB break I am back!!

The end of this school year snuck up on me and it still doesn’t feel like summer but we are enjoying our free time! I have only been on Facebook selling some of my thrifted and antique finds because I really enjoy treasure hunting and I really enjoyed not being attached to my phone!

I have had people reaching out to see if I’m still making/selling my tallow and other products… I AM! I am out of stock at the moment (on the tallow) but am making more today! I will update the website this week!

Here are a couple pictures I took last night of our pretty Jersey girls and some farm animals❤️

When everyone is running to the store to grab all of the bread, milk and eggs beacuse of the winter storm that is coming….you realize all of the sacrifice your family makes is worth it!

Sometimes we get so tired of the day in and day out of running a homestead…. But how blessed are we to not have to rely so much on the grocery store because of that hard work❤️

Now back to more preparation to keep our animals safe and “warmer” this week!!

Stay safe everyone!
