😂😂 WELL, FRIENDS… THE BAKING IS DONE, SO LET’S TALK ABOUT THE SHENANIGANS THAT HAPPENED BEHIND THE SCENES THIS WEEK. 🖤🍞

First things first… I am NOT perfect. 😂 And quite frankly, neither is Chuck. Maybe that’s exactly why we thrive together. 🤣🤷🏼‍♀️

This week, my husband was out of town for work, which meant I was left holding down the fort, working my full-time gig, managing the 3 kiddos, AND somehow making time for the farmstand. And honestly? I think I did pretty darn good! 🤩🙌🏻

He got home yesterday (HALLELUJAH! 😂❤️), and today was a no-school day, which meant Chuck and I had ourselves a little workday at home.

I finished my 4 loaves bright and early, started working on English muffins, and then remembered I had a certain little girlie who has been BEGGING me for buns for weeks. 🥹🫶🏻

She’s a friend’s kiddo who’s friends with my daughter, and apparently, she has decided I am her personal bun lady. 😂

Because when a 9-year-old is on her tablet talking to your daughter, DEMANDS to talk to you, starts NEGOTIATING for buns, and is willing to pay you $2 for them… well, at that point, you just make the girl her darn buns. 🤣🖤

THE GIRL KNOWS WHAT’S GOOD. 🤌🏻🤤

So, I mixed up the dough and let it rise. Got all my other goodies ready for the stand, moved on to the buns, and then…

😳😳😳 OMG. I FORGOT THE BUTTER AND SALT.

AFTER THE 30-MINUTE REST. 🫣🫣🫣

Now listen, we do NOT waste dough around here. But I also know darn well those buns were NOT going to meet the standards of my tiny 9-year-old customer. She would KNOW. She was going to know those were NOT THE buns. 😂😂

So, after having a brief moment of being mad at myself, I pivoted. Took that dough, turned it into GARLIC BUTTER PULL-APART BREAD, and figured we’d dip it in marinara for lunch.

AND VOILÀ! 🍞🧄🍅

Turns out, I WAS WINNING. 🙌🏻

Although I still think Chuck had some questionable plans up his sleeve this morning. 👀🤣

BUT WAIT. THERE’S MORE. Because apparently, Chuck wasn’t finished messing with me yet. 😂

Moving forward, I decided I really didn’t NEED two batches of buns. I’d just make ONE batch and split it with my 9-year-old bestie. Easy enough, right?!

WRONG. 🤣🤣🤣

Chuck apparently had other plans and decided to plop an ENTIRE SECOND SERVING OF DISCARD RIGHT INTO MY MIXING BOWL.

SO HERE WE ARE… WITH A DOUBLE BATCH OF BUNS ANYWAY. 😂😂😂

Those buns are still in the works, but honestly… HAVE YOU HAD THESE BUNS?! 🤤🤤🤤

Worth. Every. Minute. Of. The. Wait. 🖤

So, there you have it, friends. A little reminder that behind every loaf, every goodie, and every stocked shelf, there’s a real human over here trying her best, occasionally forgetting ingredients, pivoting when things go sideways, and apparently running a bakery with a sourdough starter who has absolutely ZERO respect for the production schedule. 🤣

But hey… we’re making memories, feeding people, learning as we go, and having a whole lot of fun along the way.

😂😂 WELL FRIENDS… WE HAVE A SITUATION. 😂🍞

Remember when she said she was going to make MORE large loaves for the stand? Remember when she confidently thought, “Yup! Let’s make 4 more. Surely I can sell a couple, and if I’m left with one or two, no biggie! We’ll eat them!” 🤣🤣

FRIENDS. I WOULD LIKE TO FORMALLY APOLOGIZE FOR UNDERESTIMATING YOU. 😂🙌🏼

Let’s recap this little sourdough saga, shall we?!

🍞 I originally made 10 large loaves.
👉🏼 3 made their grand debut on the stand.
👉🏼 The other 7? ALREADY CLAIMED before they even had a chance to meet the world.
👉🏼 By the end of the day, we had ONE lonely loaf left.

So naturally, I thought… let’s make 4 more! Because apparently I have learned absolutely nothing. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

WELLLLLLLLL… those 4 were claimed BEFORE THEY EVEN GOT TO FORM THEIR SHAPE. 💀🤣

The good news? Those lucky customers got to customize their loaves, which is pretty darn fun! The bad news? One of those loaves is a CHEESY JALAPEÑO loaf, and I’m not gonna lie… I’m a LITTLE jealous that it’s heading out the door because that flavor sits RIGHT AT THE TOP of my personal favorites list. 🧀🌶️🤤

And apparently, we’ve also decided that we aren’t really doing the whole Rise & Shine thing anymore. 😂

We’re just gonna SHINE & RISE WHENEVER WE FEEL LIKE IT because y’all have already claimed your goodies, which means there’s no need to set an alarm and race the rest of the world awake to snag your sourdough! 🤣🙌🏼

Seriously, you guys… 🥹❤️ I started this little Farmstand with a whole lot of hope, a whole lot of sourdough, and absolutely NO IDEA what it would become. Watching you show up, support this little dream, and claim these loaves before they even hit the shelves is something I will never take for granted. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. THANK YOU. ❤️

👀 WHAT 10 LARGE LOAVES LOOK LIKE BEFORE THEY BECOME BREAD…

A little behind-the-scenes look at prep day around here…😂🍞

This was the moment I stood in my kitchen, looked at my island and thought…

“Well…we’re committed now.” 🤣

10. LARGE. LOAVES.

All shaped, seasoned, and hanging out on the island waiting for their turn to head into the fridge for their long overnight nap. 💤🍞

And this picture is basically a perfect snapshot of the chaos that is Chuck & Hannah’s Shenanigans…

A couple of those are getting the Cheesy Everything Garlic treatment 🧄🧀👀
A couple are getting some rosemary love 🌿
And the rest are patiently waiting to become those beautiful classic loaves you guys keep SNATCHING off the shelves. 😂

This is the part you don’t see when you grab a loaf from the Farmstand.

The flour EVERYWHERE.
The dough on every available surface.
The constant counting because apparently I can make 10 loaves but still question whether I actually made 10 loaves. 😂
And Chuck standing there whispering, “We could make more…” 👀

But honestly?

I LOVE seeing my kitchen look like this. ❤️

Because not too long ago, I never would have imagined I’d be standing here with 10 large sourdough loaves lined up on my island because people are actually asking for MORE and feeling like we still don’t have enough.

That part still blows my mind a little. 🥹

🌅 RISE AND SHINE, FRIENDS! THE FARMSTAND IS OPEN! 🌅

Okay friends…these LARGE loaves have been BOOMING lately. Like…they’re barely touching the shelves before they disappear. 👀🍞

So naturally, I thought, “You know what? This weekend feels like a REALLY good weekend for sourdough. I’m going to be prepared.” 😂

Well…we’re down to 3 large loaves and Chuck whispered…

👀 “Let’s do it again.”

And honestly…who am I to argue with Chuck? 😂

So the stand is OPEN and the shelves are stocked…for now with:

Chewy, buttery, sweet caramel goodness with just the right hit of salty to keep you going back for “just one more.” 😂

And yes… they’re sourdough because apparently we can’t just make a normal cookie around here. 🤷‍♀️😂

🚨👻 SPOOKY BROWNIE ALERT 👻🚨

Because apparently regular brownies weren’t chaotic enough… so I made SPOOKY SOURDOUGH COSMIC BROWNIES. 🎃🍫

They’re rich, fudgy, chocolatey little squares of happiness topped with chocolate goodness and ALL the spooky vibes. 🖤🧡✨

And because it’s Halloween season, obviously they needed some festive sprinkles and a little black & orange M&M action. 👀

Basically… if a cosmic brownie and Halloween had a delicious little sourdough baby, this would be it. 😂

These are the kind of brownies where you tell yourself, “I’ll just have one,” and then suddenly you’re standing in the kitchen holding the container wondering where the rest went. 😬😂
