I am a busy bee this week prepping for the sale this Friday and Saturday! Labeling product. Prepping packaging. And preparing to bake bake BAKE!
Here’s a sneak peak of a few things you’ll see this weekend! This whipped tallow turned out SO SO CUTE! And it smells so good, almost good enough to eat! 😋
Also we are going through a slight re-logo-ing? I absolutely love our logo but it’s impossible to put on anything. Like hats or sweatshirts. So our new logo is going to be out this week as well. Its debut if you will 😎
I’m loving it. It’s simple. It shows what we offer. And features a little phrase we use a little too often on the farm. “twine and a dream”.
Ethan and I will argue until our dying day over who actually came up with the phrase. I’m about 99.9% sure the genius idea came from me and that he has early dementia. Or selective memory. But he will tell you that he came up with it. Honestly I’m not sure we will ever know or remember who actually said it first, but it’s a phrase we live by. We don’t have a tractor, we don’t have fancy equipment or tools but we always have twine laying around. And there’s not much that twine won’t fix. It’s a staple around here. Fixing fence, fixing pens, tying pens, tying up water buckets, tying gates you name it twine does it. Our kidding pens are assembled every year with what? You guessed it. TWINE. Everything we do here is with twine and a dream. A dream of making this farming thing something that can support our family. This isn’t your average modern farming. We want to farm how grandma and grandpa used to. A little of this and a little of that. A farm that changes with the seasons. No mass production, no monocropping. Putting real care and time into the things we produce and the land we do it on. Regenerating our soil. Tending the the land and its creatures, the way God intended. Raising animals on sunshine, grass and fresh air. I
had a conversation with someone just the other day and we were talking about how we operate. And she jokingly said “well it doesn’t sound like the way to get rich that’s for sure”. We laughed and I said that’s exactly right. We don’t want to get rich off of this. We want to be comfortable and self sustaining and work as a family. If we could be self sustaining I know we wouldn’t be rich monetarily, but we would be extremely rich in other areas. That’s why I am blown away and humbled every week that you guys come back to the farm stand. Every one of you that buys pork, milk, eggs, chicken, lotion, soap, etc. It may not seem like a lot. But every time you stop in and support us you are helping buy the next round of meat chickens, buy the next bag of feed, buy the next ton of hay. It all adds up and makes a difference. Anyways, enough rambling on. I just wanted to share what that logo means to us. And how appreciative we are of our amazing customers! ❤️
Come see me this weekend at the sale! Farm stand will also be open and we will also have items at The Hub Stayton Oregon so if you’re in town pop in grab a cookie and drink to wash it down!
