The Colorado Livestock Association is grateful to American AgCredit for its generous $5,000 donation to support Colorado livestock producers affected by the Aspen Acres wildfire.

As CLA President Britt Dinis shared, “American AgCredit’s generosity demonstrates the strength of partnership within Colorado agriculture. When we come together to support producers, we help them recover while strengthening the agricultural community as a whole.”

These funds will help producers offset critical recovery costs, including fencing, pens, agricultural structure repairs, feed and other necessary expenses.

“The Colorado Livestock Association and the Colorado Cattlemen's Association are joining together to oppose the proposed changes.
In a joint statement, the groups said the administration has consistently expressed a desire to grow the U.S. cattle herd, but with cattle numbers at a 75-year low, they said the policy could have the opposite effect.
Both groups said they support a free-market environment and recognize the importance of a strong import and export market. But they said Colorado producers need stability and clarity as they make livestock marketing decisions.
“Despite drought and natural disasters, they continue to produce high-quality beef products, which is driving strong consumer demand,” the associations said in their statement. They added that uncertainty surrounding the markets and a lack of clarity on tariff policies are deepening concerns among producers.“

Today, the Colorado Livestock Association and the Colorado Cattlemen's Association are joining together to oppose the President's plan to ease beef tariffs. The President and his administration have consistently espoused their desire to promote growth in the United States cattle herd; with cattle numbers at a 75-year low, this announcement is likely to have the opposite effect.

On Tuesday, members and staff joined a roundtable with USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins, hosted by Congressman Gabe Evans. CLA President Britt Dinis Britt Ruhl Dinis, Past President Jim Docheff, Director Kristie Docheff Kristie Docheff, and Bob Warner, as well as Luke Lind and Billy Schmitz of Five Rivers Cattle Feeding Five Rivers Cattle Feeding were present for the roundtable.

During the roundtable, CLA members and staff spoke to the uncertainty that Colorado livestock producers are facing, driven by high input costs, market fluctuations, drought, and natural disasters; labor, animal disease prevention, and trade were also raised by CLA.
