Pudding River Stables

Pudding River Stables Home of Heart, Happy, Horsemanship, where everything we do is for the heart and happiness of the horse. Connect, Communicate, Collaborate, CREATE! That's me.

Welcome to Pudding River Stables and home of Heart, Happy, Horsemanship. Here we embrace the horse in all it's horsiness. Horses are sentient beings and we believe the horse should have a choice in the world we've stuck them in. We want to offer them the most natural environment we can in captivity with friends where they can socialize and do normal horsey things like play and forage together in w

ide, open spaces. We have fun and play with our horses here. This is a place where horse and human can enjoy a relaxed and playful atmosphere that is free of judgement - and this means you have to quit judging yourself too! We encourage curiosity and growth. There are no failures, only information....unless you quit. Have you ever sent your horse off to the trainer and watched them move and connect beautifully with each other, but when you get home you struggle to do "get" your horse to do those things with you? We offer coaching and education in how YOU can connect, collaborate and create with your horse, improving your relationship and all the fun things you do together, and giving you some discernment and control in your education when pursuing riding disciplines and instructors. We offer horsemanship classes for kiddos and adults on up, you are never too young or too old to learn new tricks! In fact we encourage you to embrace your inner child and play with a childlike curiosity and innocence. Let go of perfection and be gracious with your horse and yourself and reward the first try, remember, Rome wasn't built in a day, everyone starts somewhere. When our horses feel heard, considered and understood, and when they are having fun in the process, you'll be amazed at what a horse will do WITH you! After all, isn't that what we all want? For our horse to want to be WITH us, doing things WITH us? A little about your coach, Jodi. I grew up eating, sleeping, breathing horses. Often found running around on all fours embodying the majestic animal I so admired. I still get asked about that. Apparently I was a little obsessed. I always dreamed I would have my little farm with lots of animals, but mainly horses. My dream came true in 2014 when my family bought a small farm in Aurora, Oregon and we built a horse barn. It was around 2016 when I took in a rescue, a giant 18.3 hh Shire. He had more issues than I was prepared to take on and I needed help, but I wanted to do the training. He was disconnected and extremely unhappy with any "job" including walking to and from pastures. He was a bit of a handful, when you could hang on to him that is. Oddly, he loved being groomed and would stand for hours for a bath or clipping, or messing with his feathers. So, this started my natural horsemanship journey and has since evolved into my diving deep into the study of behavior, behavior modification, emotions and trauma in horses and how we often cause trauma with our training methods. My passion turned to helping the horse and helping others help their horses. I believe we are all a work in progress. I believe that we have to work on ourselves to be good to others, including our horses. This is a process that I continue to study and practice. It's been said that in order to get better at something, or to really learn something, you should teach it. So, here I am to share my studies and passion with you! My goal is to help as many horse and human partners I can have heart, happy foundations, so it's a win, win, right? We all just keep improving and learning and that makes happy horses. I hope you'll connect with me here or on one of our learning platforms! For the heart and happiness of the horse, of course! Jodi Moses
