🐾 A Public Statement Regarding Teddy🐾
For some of you who may have seen some post on Facebook regarding us and a sweetheart pup named Teddy, I want to take a moment to address the situation and clear up some misunderstandings.
Yes, I found Teddy in a rural wooded area in the evening. Yes, after I attempted to drop him off at a residence someone said he lived at, however nobody answered then after waiting for someone to come outside and even trying to make the pup go back thru the gate but he wouldn’t go. So instead of me leaving him on the side of the road again or wondering around where a coyote or owl could have gotten to him, I took him in, cared for him, cleaned him up from fleas, stickers, sticks and ultimately made the decision that he wasn’t taken care of or loved because I genuinely believed he had been neglected. My intentions were never to steal someone’s beloved pet. I was concerned about his well-being and wanted to protect him.
Both parties reached out and were in communication with a detective for TEDDYS well being. After an investigation was conducted, I spoke with the detective and learned that Teddy was, in fact, from a loving home. His family had been away for a week, left a loved one to watch over Teddy however he got out which helped explain the condition in which I found him.
Once I learned the full circumstances and understood that Teddy was safe and loved, I returned him to his rightful family.
I also want to share that Teddy’s owners have since apologized and clarified that there was never intention for this situation to cause harm to me or my business (a lot of people had their opinions on both sides). I appreciate them doing that on their own willingness. Thank you to everyone who messaged, called or texted me believing that I had no ill will and who knows my heart, your support means so much.
I understand that keeping Teddy while I was concerned about his condition created controversy, and I acknowledge that I did not have the full story at the time and apologized to his family. My actions came from a place of concern for an animal I believed needed help, not from any intention to take someone’s pet.
At the end of the day, Teddy is back home with his family, the misunderstanding has been resolved, and both parties have moved forward peacefully.
I wish Teddy and his family nothing but the best and remember I am here to babysit anytime. ❤️🐾
Thank you to everyone who genuinely cared about Teddy’s well-being. I hope we can now put this situation behind us with understanding, kindness, and respect.
With love,
Delores
