**FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE**

**Bittersweet Farewell: Announcing the Release of Our Last Vintage, Vineyard Estates ATX Mourvèdre 2022**

Austin, TX – Vineyard Estates ATX is proud and wistful to announce the release of our final vintage of Vineyard Estates ATX Mourvèdre 2022. Nestled in the heart of Southwest Austin, our vineyard has been a labor of love, cultivated in the rich terroir of Cretaceous limestone that defines the eastern boundary of Texas Hill Country.

Reflecting on this journey, we are immensely grateful for the opportunity to build our vineyard in our front yard and for the invaluable guidance we received from our mentors. Jim Kamas of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Ed and Susan Auler, the founders of Fall Creek Vineyards, and the exceptional winemaker Sergio Cuadra have been instrumental in shaping our vision. Their passion for Texas wine and their wealth of knowledge have made our dreams a reality.

While we are excited to share that a limited supply of Vineyard Estates ATX Mourvèdre 2022 is now available for purchase through the wine club at [Fall Creek Vineyards Wine Club](https://fcv.com/wine-club/), it is with a heavy heart that we announce this will be our last dance. After much contemplation, we have decided to retire the vineyard rather than replant, echoing the sentiment of Garth Brooks’ poignant song
The Dance
“And now I'm glad I didn't know
The way it all would end
The way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance
I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance

Seaquist Home’s ornate stone & wood carvings from a time long ago by craftsman, whose art has been lost and forgotten. Back in the day the architect also did the stone carvings and the Reverend that started construction on the house in 1887 was also a banker. How times have changed.

Being a curious guy, I wanted to know what type of plant that it sprung up over 7 feet tall in the backyard of our Guadalupe Get-A-Way home. I posted this photo of the plant to the Facebook group “Texas Plants, and Invertebrates”. I was very surprised to find out what we have Common mullein, Verbascum thapsus, introduced that has several health benefits. It’s reported that it can cure respiratory infections & ailments. Also people use it for sore throats & coughs. It’s also referred to as cowboy toilet paper for its medicinal properties. You can make tea or poultice (putting it on your chest) or dry it, roll it up, and smoke it. One person commented it cured her of walking pneumonia when nothing else worked.

Gladiolus are our swords and we salute you.

The gladiolus is full of heroism. The name comes from the Latin word 'gladius', which means sword and symbolises strength, victory and pride. That meaning dates all the way back to Roman times, when gladiators fought to death in the Colosseum.

The pink flowers of the Gladiolus represent calmness and serenity. They also represent femininity and gentility. They can be viewed as romantic flowers. Use them to show someone you respect them.

Prehistoric creators became a symbol of redemption, forgiveness, and love when we built our home 23 Easters ago. I’m eternally grateful for my second chance.
