From Renaissance-inspired costumes to the historic story of Marcantonio Colonna and the Battle of Lepanto, this parade connects today’s festival with centuries of Italian history.

And there’s another fascinating connection: Marino’s famous grape festival dates back to 1925. 🍇

🍇 Marino is getting ready for one of its biggest celebrations! 🇮🇹

The Sagra dell’Uva di Marino is almost here — a festival where w**e, history, music and local traditions take over the streets of this beautiful town in the Castelli Romani. 🍷🎶

Did you know?

🍇 The Sagra dell’Uva dates back to 1925.
⛲ During the celebration, Marino’s famous Fontana dei Quattro Mori becomes part of the legendary w**e tradition.
⚔️ The historic procession recalls Marcantonio Colonna and the Battle of Lepanto in 1571.
🎭 And 2026 is a special year for another reason: “’Na gita a li Castelli” celebrates 100 years since the famous song was first published.

🎆 What does New Year’s Eve look like in Italy? 🇮🇹

December 31 is known as La Notte di San Silvestro — the traditional night before Capodanno.

As midnight approaches, fireworks fill the Italian sky. 🎇 But there’s more behind the celebration:

🥣 Lentils are traditionally associated with wealth and prosperity.
❤️ Red is considered a lucky colour for the New Year.
🍽️ The Cenone di Capodanno brings family and friends together around a special dinner.
🎆 And traditionally, the loud sounds of fireworks were believed to help drive away negativity and welcome the new year.

A beautiful Italian tradition where food, family, fireworks and centuries-old beliefs come together. 🇮🇹✨
